Essential Qualification : Doctoral Degree in Biotechnology/Botany from a recognized University or equivalent, and 5 years of research experience as in desirable qualification.
Desirable Qualification : Experience in Plant Tissue Culture/Molecular Biology Techniques/DNA fingerprinting/Essential oil quality analysis; experience in activity planning based on objectives, research writing, scientific documentation, data handling and analysis, preparation and compilation of research/technical reports, scientific manuscripts, and PowerPoint presentations. The candidates may need to travel extensively across the country to implement project objectives.

Essential Qualification : (i) Master's/Integrated Masters in Renewable Energy/Soil Science/Microbiology/Biotechnology and 2 years of research experience in Biomass conversion Technologies; OR (ii) B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering and 2 years of research experience in Biomass conversion Technologies; OR (iii) Masters/Integrated Masters in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering/Agricultural Engineering.
Desirable Qualification : Candidates with experience in Biomass conversion Technologies, Distillation Technologies, CBG Technologies, waste to energy Technologies, Biochar or Sustainable Packaging shall be given preference.

Essential Qualification : Master's in Microbiology from recognized University or equivalent, and 2 years of research experience in microbial culture, Isolation, batch fermentation, bioreactor handling.
Desirable Qualification : Experience in value addition of aroma produce (Oils, Marc). Experience documented through Scientific publications and other Scientific activities will be preferred. The candidates may need to travel extensively across the country to implement project objectives.

Essential Qualification : Masters in Chemistry from a recognized University or equivalent, and 2 years of research experience in isolation of Natural Products from plants/microbes and their natural products and knowledge of analytical techniques.
Desirable Qualification : Expertise in LCMS/NMR/GCMS/Mass Spectroscopic analysis will be preferred. Candidates with Scientific publications and other Scientific activities will be preferred. The candidates may need to travel extensively throughout the country for the implementation of project work.

Project Associate-II (PAT-II)

Essential Qualification : M.Sc in Biological Sciences / M.Pharm from a recognized University/Institution or equivalent, and 2 years of research experience in cell culture, molecular biology techniques, animal handling, clinical sample analysis and related work.
Desirable Qualification : Experience in Neuro-biology/neuro-pharmacological research, animal handling, behavioural studies, cell culture, and molecular biology, biochemical assays, or related preclinical research. Techniques like ELISA and Western Blotting, in-vitro/in-vivo bioassays, biochemical assays, antimicrobial/antioxidant/anti-inflammatory studies, and related laboratory techniques will be desirable. Candidates having publications in peer-reviewed journals will be given preference.

Project Associate-II (PAT-II)
Position Code : 06
Essential Qualification : MSc. in Botany / Biotechnology / Plant Sciences / Biochemistry from a recognized University or equivalent, and 2 years research experience in tissue culture, and plant molecular biology.
Desirable Qualification : Practical experience in the area of plant molecular biology with knowledge of nucleic acid isolation, cloning, genetic transformation, expression analysis, etc.

NOTE : The tenure of the aforementioned positions under different position codes are temporary, and shall co-terminus with the sponsored project (March 2029). The number of positions are tentative and may increase or decrease without any prior notice. The engagement of all project staff in different projects either in the same Lab/Instt. OR different Lab/ Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 6 years in any case.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Age will be reckoned as on the last date of submission of application. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc. should send their copies of certificates in the proper format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject.
2. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women and Women Judicially separated from Husbands, who are not remarried since, as per GOI/CSIR provisions.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
1. Application form for particular position code can be filled online in the Google Form using particular position code. Google Form link is available on the CSIR- IIIM website (iiim.res.in). Filled in Google Form should be submitted by or before 09.10.2026.
2. Application Form submitted after the scheduled date i.e. 05:30 PM on 09.10.2026 shall not be entertained for Interview.
3. The shortlisted candidates have to be available on the date of interview during the allotted time period (incase of any change, they will be accordingly intimated).
4. The interview in respect of eligible/shortlisted candidates shall be conducted in hybrid mode. In case of large number of applications, the Screening Committee may re-visit the criteria and shortlist the candidates for Interview in proportionate to the available vacancies.
5. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
6. The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co-terminus with sponsored Project.
7. The research experience acquired during the Ph.D. tenure shall not be counted towards the requisite experience for Project Scientist-II .
8. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., the candidate should convert the same into equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form and a copy of such conversion formula must be attached along with the Google Form.
9. To avoid any inconveniences, only those candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the aforesaid subjects should apply for the Interview.
10. Candidates currently engaged in any project at CSIR-IIIM must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before applying for any new vacancy. Applications/ candidature/ selection of such candidates will only be considered if the NOC has been issued by the office.
11. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents including eligibility qualification, age and relaxation will be verified, if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment stands cancelled.
12. The Location for interview will be CSIR IIIM Jammu.
13. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.
