Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) is a premier institute of science and technology established in 2008. IITH offers undergraduate programs in all the classical engineering disciplines, applied sciences, design, as well as several modern interdisciplinary areas. Students are given a flexibility to explore a broad set of areas, and potentially pursue a minor or double major in a discipline that is not their own.
Applications are invited for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in a research project funded by ANRF to be carried out at the Department of Biotechnology, IIT Hyderabad.
Title of the Project : Defining subcellular and disease-specific RNA-protein interaction networks underlying repeat expansion disorders using in vivo RNA-tagging and proximity labelling
Job description : To conduct project-related experimental research work, analyse and interpret data assigned by the PI.
Funding agency : Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India
Duration of the project : 10 months, with a possibility of further extension based on performance and funding availability.
Number of vacancies : 1 (one)
Fellowship : a) Rs. 37,000 + HRA as applicable for scholars selected through GATE/ CSIR-UGC NET or any other National- level examination conducted by Central Govt. Departments and their agencies and Institutions.
b) Rs. 31,000 + HRA as applicable for scholars who do not fall under (a) selection category
Minimum Qualifications : MTech in any area of Life Sciences / Biotechnology, MSc degree in any allied area of Life Sciences/Biotechnology, BTech/BPharm/BE (4-years degree programme) in any allied area of Life Sciences/Biotechnology, BVSc, MBBS, with minimum 60% marks.
Note : Degree should have been awarded
Desirable Qualifications : Experience in molecular cloning, protein expression and purification
Age limit : 28 Years
[Age limit is relaxed as per norms in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.]
