The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is committed to advanced research with a view to understand body's defense mechanisms for developing modalities of immune system manipulation that can intervene with disease processes. The institute’s research thrust areas under immunology and related disciplines cluster in four main themes, namely, infection and immunity, molecular design, gene regulation and reproduction and development, where cutting edge research in modern biology is being carried out employing multiple overlapping disciplines of biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and structural biology.

Post : Senior Research Fellow (Project) (One position only)

Duration : 06 Months (Six months)
Name of the Project : “Understanding the interactions of p53, insulin-IGF-signaling and FOXO in development, germ cell proliferation, stress and cancer” funded by DBT

Educational Qualifications : a) Post Graduate degree in Biological Sciences / Post Graduate Degree in a professional Course from a recognized University or equivalent; and the candidates should have cleared any National Level Eligibility test such as (NET / GATE etc.).
b) 2 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions, or Science and Technology Organizations, and Scientific activities and services

Job Description : Candidates who have done cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemical assays involving tumour suppressors and oncogenes or other proteins involved in cancer development or suppression will be preferred in the interview.

Emoluments : Rs. 42,000/- per month plus 27% HRA (As per DST OM dated 26.06.2023)
