As on January 2024, the Institute has around 214 staff with 170 S&T staff on its roll and around 200 research fellows and project assistants pursing their doctoral programme and engaged in several projects.

Project & Title: HCP0024 Phase-III: “Seaweed Cultivation 'Identification of Potential Locations across India for and Seaweed Cultivation (IPL-ISeaC)” HCP0024,WP-04 – Biostimulant with Stable Active Components and Targeted Mechanistic Insights.
Essential Qualifications: Doctoral Degree in any branch of Biological Science with specialization in Plant Molecular Biology / Plant Biotechnology.
Desirable: Knowledge of bioinformatics, transcriptomics, metagenomics, DNA fingerprinting, gene expression studies, and published doctoral work in SCI Journals. The candidate is expected to work for understanding the molecular mechanistic insight of the activity of biostimulants on microalgae, bacteria and higher plants and characterize different biostimulants
Candidates with experience after Ph.D. will be preferred.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 42000/- + HRA
Age: The upper age limit for Senior-PAT is 40 years on the last date of applications. (Age relaxation as per CSIR rules).

Duration: This position is purely temporary, initially for one year and subsequently extendable based on work performance up to project duration, whichever is earlier. It does not confer any right or claim for absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI.

Terms and Conditions: This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Laboratories/Institutes of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 06 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar. Applications received by e-mail will be scrutinized based on candidate's academic background with a certain criteria and shortlisted candidates as eligible as per the criteria will be asked to attend the online interview on a later date. The details of the interview will be sent to shortlisted candidates by e-mail only.
