Senior Project Associate

Essential Qualifications :  Doctoral Degree in Science from a recognized University or equivalent 
Basic Salary : 42000 and HRA 

Work Description : The candidate will lead and execute wet-lab molecular biology experiments focused on microbiological and enzymatic characterization. Responsibilities include overseeing bacterial culture, DNA isolation, PCR, plasmid preparation, transformation, and functional screening of environmental strains for small molecules, as well as isolating and characterizing the isolated small molecules. The role also involves designing and optimizing activity assays, maintaining accurate laboratory records, analyzing experimental data, and guiding junior researchers in experimental workflows. 
Desirable Qualification : Doctoral degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field. Strong hands-on experience in microbial culture, DNA isolation, PCR, plasmid preparation, and transformation. Proficiency in standard laboratory practices, data recording, and result interpretation. Good understanding of microbial physiology, chromatography techniques, and biosafety procedures. Ability to troubleshoot experiments, optimize protocols, work independently, and help junior research associates.

Work Description : The candidate will perform wet-lab molecular biology experiments focusing on microbiological and enzymatic characterization. Key duties include bacterial culture, DNA isolation, PCR, plasmid preparation, transformation, functional screening of environmental strains for small molecules, and screening viable phages from environmental samples. 
The role also involves conducting activity assays, optimizing protocols, maintaining detailed lab records, and analyzing experimental results. 
Desirable Qualification : Master’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field. Strong hands-on experience in microbial culture, DNA isolation, PCR, plasmid preparation, and transformation. Proficiency in standard laboratory practices, data recording, and result interpretation. Good understanding of microbial physiology, enzyme kinetics, and biosafety procedures. Ability to troubleshoot experiments, optimize protocols, and work independently or within a research team.

Work Description : The role involves analyzing and interpreting biological data from large-scale human and environmental microbiome and genomics projects. Responsibilities include processing sequencing data, performing advanced statistical analyses, developing reproducible workflows, and creating clear data visualizations for scientific publications. 
The candidate maintains detailed records and manages sample metadata to ensure data integrity and traceability. Collaboration with computational and experimental teams is essential, along with contributing to literature reviews, research reports, and manuscript preparation. 
Desirable Qualification : Must have a Master’s in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Microbiology, or related fields, with experience in microbiome data analysis, including metagenomics and 16S rRNA sequencing. They are proficient in relevant bioinformatics tools and programming (Python, R), familiar with microbial taxonomy and functional annotation (KEGG, COG), and understand microbial ecology and statistics. They can manage large datasets independently and communicate results clearly in writing and orally.
