Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This Creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with cooperation of great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was d under the Parliamentary legislation - B.H.U. Act 1915. It played a stellar role in the independence movement and has developed into the greatest center of learning in India. It has produced many great freedom fighters and builders of modern India and has immensely contributed to the progress of the nation through a large number of renowned scholars, artists, scientists and technologists who have graced its portals.
Post : Research Associate (One Post)
Applications are invited for the temporary positions of Research Associate (RA) under the ICAR sponsored project entitled “Genetic Modification to improve Biological Nitrogen Fixation for augmenting nitrogen need of Cereals (under Incentivizing Agricultural Research Scheme)”. Engagement will be initially for 5 months but extendable depending upon continuation of the project by ICAR and the performance of the selected candidates. The post is temporary and co-terminus the project.
Emoluments : Rs. 67000 + HRA (As applicable)
Qualifications Essential : PhD in Biotechnology/Plant Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Microbiology or M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Plant Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Microbiology with First division or 60% marks 3 years research experience and 1 research paper in SCI/NAAS rated (> 4)journal
Desirable : Research experience in the use of molecular biology (gene cloning, expression, knock-out construction etc) tools with nitrogen fixing bacteria.
Upper Age Limit : 40 years (Relaxation as per ICAR guidelines)
