The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients. Hamdard University is setting up Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (HIMSR) in its campus of Jamia Hamdard at Hamdard Nagar, New Delhi-110062.
Applications are invited for the following temporary research positions under sponsored research project.
Post : Senior Research Fellow
Tile of project : “The Penumbra of Learning: Role of Plasticity Related Proteins in Behavioral Tagging”.
Essential qualifications:
1). First class M.Sc. (Toxicology/Forensic Sciences/Neuroscience) or M.Pharm. (Pharmacology) from a recognized university.
2). Two years research experience for M.Sc. candidates.
Desirable :
1). Experience in surgical models of rodents.
2). Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
3). Qualified NET – JRF/LS examination of CSIR/UGC/ICMR for M.Sc. applicants and GPAT for M.Pharm. applicants
Stipend and allowances : As per DST norms.
Duration of appointment : Ten months (or until the completion of project as per sanction).
