The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Bacteriology unit was added in 1907.  The name of ARI was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute. Following a devastating earth quake on 15th January 1934, the institute was shifted to Delhi on 29th July 1936.

Project : Unraveling the bacterial blight pathogenesis based on novel rice RNA-based markers expressed during infection of Xanthmonasoryzae pv. oryzae in presence or absence of functional T3SS.

Duration : 1 year

Consolidated Emolument : Rs. 25000 + HRA 30%

Essential qualification : Post graduate degree in Basic sciences including Biotechnology / Life sciences / Bioscience / Plant Sciences with NET qualification or Post graduate degree in Professional courses including Agricultural Sciences / Biotechnology / Bio Science/Life sciences

Desirable experience : Hands- on experiences on bioinformatics/genomics/RNA seq data analysis as supported through valid publication.

Candidates fulfilling the requirements should bring CV giving full details of academic records and experience along with attested photocopies as well as original copies of relevant documents and passport size photograph.

Terms and conditions:
1. Above position ispurely temporary time bond and co- terminable with the project.
2. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in interview.
3. No objection certificate from the employer / university, in case he / she is in employment elsewhere.
4. Reporting time is at 10 AM but will be open up to 11 AM. After that no candidates will be entertained.
