The Department of Biotherapeutics Research (DBR) is a premier interdisciplinary research hub under the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, India. DBR is engaged in translational research and innovation in the development of biotherapeutics, including cell, gene, protein, 3D bioprinting, and nano/biomaterials-based therapies. Our mission is to advance cutting-edge biotherapeutic strategies in collaboration with global biopharma industries.
Seeking outstanding and motivated candidates for the position of Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences, with a proven track record and high-impact publications and industry engagement. The selected candidate will be expected to lead independent research in pharmaceutical, contribute to strategic collaborations with biotech/biopharma partners, and mentor young researchers in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Applications are invited from Indian nationals [including Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs)] and foreign nationals for the position of Assistant Professor
Essential Qualification :
Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (e.g., Pharmaceutics & Pharmaceutical Biotechnology) with First Class or equivalent in the preceding degree and a consistent academic record.
Experience : Minimum of three years of teaching/research/industrial experience (excluding Ph.D.). Postdoctoral research experience from a foreign institution in Pharmaceutical Science/ Pharmaceutical Biotechnology/ formulation (India or abroad) is highly desirable
Desirable Qualifications :
• Industry collaborations and/or outputs such as patents, licensed technologies, SOPs, or regulatory-enabling data packages.
• Understanding of quality systems (GLP/GMP), and regulatory pathways for biologics/cell & gene therapies.
• Prior experience in grant writing will be an added advantage
