GBRC invites applications from Project Scientist, Project Associate, Research Scientist

Gujarat Biotechnology University is a new post graduate university established by the Gujarat Biotechnology University Act 2018. Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre invites applications from the interested deserving candidate for the post of PSII (1), PAII (3), LT (4), PTSIII (3) and PRSII (2) positions in below mentioned research project. For details of the projects post, essential qualification, fellowship is given below.

Project Scientist-II
Project name : Expansion of INSACOG- Wastewater Surveillance of SARS- CoV-2, Emerging Pathogens and Antimicrobial Resistance through Genomics- Based Methods
Desired qualification : 1) Doctoral degree in science or master’s degree in engineering or technology from recognized university or equivalent and Experience: Three years’ experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services

Project Associate II

Desired qualification : MSc in Life Science/Bioinformatics or related discipline
Experience : 2 years of relevant experience The candidate having knowledge/experience of NGS and Bioinformatics analysis will be given preference

Project Associate II
Project name : Environmental Surveillance as a Key Public Health Strategy in India
Desired qualification : Master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or MVSc Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent Experience: 2 years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and Services (a) Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET
(ii) including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions

Fellowship (Per Month) : (i) Rs.35,000/- + HRA to those who fall under 5(a) Or 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under 5(a)

Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical)
Project name : Establishing a metagenomic NGS surveillance model utilizing a syndromic approach in India
Desired qualification : 1. First Class Post Graduate degree, including the integrated PG degree, with three Years of Experience or Ph.D.
2. Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees, with PhD and three Years’ Experience,
3. For Engineering / IT/ CS First Class Graduate Degree of Four Years with Three years’ experience

Terms and Conditions
• The above posts are purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis for an initial period of 11 months, which may be extended after satisfactory performance of the incumbent till termination of the project.
• There is no provision of re-engagement after termination of the project.
• The selected candidate shall not claim for regular appointments, as the fellowship is co-terminus with the project.
• No TA /DA will be paid for attending the interview.
