Indian Institute of Technology invites applications for Project JRF

Project position(s) and number : Project JRF (One)

Applications are invited from Indian nationals only for project position(s) as per the details given below for the consultancy/research project(s) under the Principal investigator Prof. R. P. Singh, Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

Title of project : Enhanced lipid production by genetically engineered algal strain: Scale-up cultivation and engineering for co-production of value-added isoprenoids

Sponsor of the project : DBT Govt of India

Qualifications:
i. M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Microbiology / Life Sciences / Biosciences and Bioengineering or M. Tech in Biotechnology/Nanotechnology/Biosciences and Bioengineering / Environmental Sc./ Engg. with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA at 10-point scale (General, OBC, EWS) & 55% marks/equivalent CGPA for (SC/ST/Differently abled)
ii. Prior experience/Master’s project experience in microbiological, molecular Biological, microalgal culture handling, HPLC, GC-MS analyses is desirable.
iii. CSIR/UGC-NET/GATE qualified.
iv. Age maximum (as on the last date of application): 28 years (General/EWS), 31 Years for OBC, 33 Years for SC/ST/Differently abled/Women

Emoluments : 31000/-PM (fixed)

Duration : 4 years 10 months or till end of the project whichever is earlier


Job description : Carrying out lipid and isoprenoid estimation and analysis, metabolic studies, gene transformation and other project related work and assisting in academic activities

I. Candidates before appearing for the interview shall ensure that they are eligible for the position they intend to apply.
II. Candidates desiring to appear for the Interview should submit their applications with the following documents to the office of Principal Investigator through email:
• Application in a plain paper with detailed CV including self-attested copies of degree(s)/certificate(s) obtained, NET/GATE qualification document in chronological order in ONE PDF FILE.
III. Candidate shall bring along with them the original degree(s)/certificate(s) and experience certificate(s) at the time of online interview for verification.
IV. Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates on equal qualifications and experience.
V. Please note that no TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.
The last date for application to be submitted to office of Principal Investigator is Nov 22, 2021 by 5 PM.
The interview of only short-listed candidates will be held online via Webex. Date and time of the interview to the shortlisted candidates will be intimated by email.
