Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Apart from the various approaches of treatment, cancer chemotherapy is one of the major therapeutic approaches to combat cancer. However, improvements in the survival rate have been only modest mainly due to presence of Cancer Stem Cells. Today, there is a significant clinical need for novel methods of detection and treatment for cancer stem cells that offers improved sensitivity, specificity and cost-effectiveness.

Our laboratory (eNARM Lab, PI: Jyotsnendu Giri) at IIT Hyderabad (with collaboration with cancer hospital) leading by highly energetic interdisciplinary peoples, is working at the interface between drug delivery, materials engineering and cancer stem cells biology to develop next-generation approaches for cancer stem cells therapeutics and treatment. We are seeking talented, motivated and passionate individuals to join in our efforts for cutting-age research on “* *Novel therapeutic approach against Cancer Stem cells”. The candidate will get highly interdisciplinary work environment to perform cutting age research. The candidate will closely work with collaborators from cancer hospitals.

Essential Qualification and Work Experience: M Tech, M.S, M.Sc. in Life sciences / Biotechnology / Pharmacy/ Material Science/Biomedical Egg/Nanotechnology/ Biochemistry with minimum 60 % mark from reputed institutes with relevant experience (1-2 years) of basic laboratory techniques related to molecular biological, drug delivery, cancer chemotherapeutics (optional) and related work

Experience on cells culture, different assay, therapeutic efficacy (in vitro) using small molecules or related, development of nanoformulation
Eager to learn new interdisciplinary research and technique related to the research.

Duration of project: Three years. The appointment will be on temporary basis for a period of six months to one year. Based on performance in the initial period, the appointment could be extended till the end of project. Candidate should have strong interest to pursue PhD. Depending on the performance; candidate will be offered to continue this work for PhD.

Emoluments: Will be decided based on the candidate qualification and experience (Rs 25,000 to 35,000).

Preference: will be given to the candidates having enough experience on the above mentioned work and also CSIR/UGC/NET holder with strong interest on this research field also given priority as well.
