INBA has global reach and membership. It is constituted by Leading Advocates, Attorneys, Eminent Judges, Multinational Corporate & Businesses, Law Firms, Legal Fraternity and Professionals, Senior Government Officials, Law Students and Professors, NGOs, Litigants, Law Publishers and Vendors, Groups, Associations, and Individuals who are interested to promoting the goals and objectives of the Association.
INBA achieves its goals by providing opportunities for legal education, seminars, camaraderie & networking, Pro-bono Work, Public Interest Litigations and the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the Indian legal & justice systems.

Topic: ‘Patents harm a Patient’s Health’

PRIZES- Two First Prizes:
1. Best Speaker for the motion- Cash Prize of Rs. 50,000
2. Best Speaker Against the motion-  Cash Prize of Rs. 50,000

DEBATE FORMAT- Two-Step Process:
Step 1: Submission of Abstract : Students are invited to submit a 500 word Abstract on the Motion. They can decide to take a position either For the Motion or Against the Motion.
Step 2: Live Debate -8 Speakers would be selected based on the above Abstracts (4 Speakers For the Motion and 4 Speakers Against the Motion) to appear for a Live Debate at the India International Center, New Delhi on 8th December, 2014.

Rules for Submission of Abstract:
– The word limit for the abstract is 500 words (excluding footnotes).
– Submit ONLY a soft copy via email to archana_agarwal@indianbarassociation.org with “Submission/IP Debate Abstract” in the subject line
– Each submission email should contain, the Abstract as well as scanned copy of Student ID card as issued by the institution.
– The cover page of the submission should contain the following details only:
– Name of Participant –– Contact Number
– Email ID –– Institution
– Course and Year of Study –– Permanent Address
– Title of the Abstract
– The main body of the Abstract should not carry any mention of the name, contact details, or the name of the institution or it shall lead to immediate disqualification.
– Co-authorship is not permitted.
– The soft copy of the Abstract should be submitted in MS Word file (.doc/.docx).
– All students are expected to acknowledge the primary source(s) of information.
– Multiple entries by an individual shall not be permitted, and shall lead to disqualification.
Last date of Submission shall be November 25, 2014.
– The 8 Finalists shall be selected by a panel and informed individually by December 2, 2014 and will have to appear for the Live Debate on December 8, 2014 at India International Centre, New Delhi
– The final prize winners would be decided by a jury at the Live Debate on December 8, 2014 and declared at the event.
