Research Career for PG candidate at AIIMS

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for One Posts (01) of Project Research Scientist-I (non-medical) to be appointed on a purely contractual basis for an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-funded research project. The title of the project is “Reversing Type-2 Diabetes: A study on the efficacy of pharmacotherapy Versus Lifestyle interventions for achieving Remission"(GAP0064), with Dr Shivani, Associate Professor, Department of Endocrinology, as the Principal Investigator (PI) at AIIMS Bathinda site.

Post : Project Research Scientist–I

Tenure of the Post : 1. The appointment will be purely contractual, initially for 6 months. It may be extended based on satisfactory performance for a maximum of 4 years or until the completion of the project, whichever is earlier, subject to approval from the competent authority/ICMR, New Delhi. 2. The project's total duration is 3 years.
Monthly Emoluments : 1. ₹56,000 + 10% HRA (Total ₹61,600/month) as per ICMR norms.

Essential & desirable qualification with Age Limit Essential Qualification- 1. First Class Post Graduate Degree including integrated PG degree or 2. Second Class Post Graduate Degree including integrated PG degree with PhD.
Desirable Qualification : 1.Prior experience in Biochemical/molecular biology, sample handing and hospital/clinical research. Proficient in MS word/Excel.
Age Limit : Maximum 35 years as on last date of application.

Roles & Responsibilities
1. Coordination with multiple sites for training, meetings, & including travel as required.
2. Conduct patient recruitment, clinical history taking, MSE, deliver CBT, and ensure timely follow- ups.
3. Manage clinical data, ensuring secure storage, transfer, and adherence to ethical standards.
4. Perform project-related administrative and accounts responsibilities as assigned by the PI.
5. Provide regular updates on project progress to PI & coordinate with across study sites.
6. Carry out all assigned project activities diligently; continuation in the position will be subject to satisfactory performance.

Terms & Conditions
1. Candidates must ensure their eligibility as per prescribed qualifications & experience. Any false information or suppression of facts will lead to disqualification or termination, and action as per Government/ICMR rules. Eligibility will also be verified at the time of document verification.
2. All educational, professional and technical qualifications should be from a recognized Board/University and obtained through full-time courses.
3. Tenure: The appointment is purely contractual for an initial period of 6 months, extendable up to 3 years or until completion of the project (whichever is earlier), based on performance and approval of the competent authority/ICMR.
4. Contract & Termination: The contract will automatically end upon completion of tenure or earlier if funding is withdrawn. It may also be terminated by either party with 30 days’ notice or performance, or candidate is found ineligible later.
5. Leave will be governed as per prevailing ICMR rules.
6. The institute will not provide hostel or any accommodation.
7. Canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification.
8. Mere possession of minimum qualifications does not guarantee selection. 9. Incomplete applications will be rejected without any communication. Shortlisting for interview will be at the discretion of the competent authority, and no intimation will be given/sent to the candidate in this regard. Only eligible candidates, as determined after document verification, will be considered for interview/exam.
10. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

11. The selected candidates will work under an ICMR Project, not directly as employees of AIIMS Bathinda. This appointment does not confer any right to candidate for regularization, permanent absorption, or continuation beyond the project period in AIIMS, Bathinda/ICMR.
12. Only the fixed consolidated salary will be given as per ICMR Rules. No extra allowances or facilities will be provided.
