Life Sciences Fellowship in Brain Aging Research Project at NIPER

Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for the following temporary position under the project entitled “Development of a Diagnostic Panel for Accelerated Brain Aging” (GP-498) sponsored by Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under the supervision of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Devices, NIPER-SAS Nagar.

This position is purely on temporary basis initially for a period of 01 year, is extendable up to three years, depending on the performance of the candidate, and is co-terminus with the duration of the project.

Remunerations : Rs. 37,000/- p.m.+ HRA, as admissible. p.m.

Essential Qualification : M.Sc. or equivalent in any branch of life sciences with a minimum of 60% marks
Desirable Qualification : Stem cell culture, working experience with animal models

Roles and Responsibilities : The fellow will engage in research related to stem cell culture and animal handling. The fellow would actively participate in lab seminars and other departmental activities. He/She will also maintain proper lab records, write grants and research papers actively and present the work in scientific conferences.

• The engagement is full time and purely on temporary basis for all intent and purposes for an initial period of 01 year, extendable up to three years, and is co-terminus with the duration of the project
• The engagement will not establish any right/claim for regularization/absorption against any vacant post in the Institute.

• The candidate(s) who fulfil the eligibility criteria may appear for a walk-in-interview along with the application form to be held on 01.06.2026 (Monday) from 02:30 pm onwards at Conference Room, Secretariat Building, NIPER-SAS Nagar – 160062 (Punjab). The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of the registration from 02:00 pm to 02:30 pm at Recruitment Cell of this Institute. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before coming for Walk-in- Interview, as ineligible candidates would not be interviewed.
• The selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in interview.
• The candidate(s) attending the interview must fulfil the eligibility criteria and should bring attested copies of testimonials / degrees / certificates in support of the averments made in the qualification & experience etc. along with Demand Draft of requisite application fee, if applicable, as mentioned.
• The candidature will be considered as invalid, ab-initio, in case he/she does not fulfil the eligibility criteria. Candidate should satisfy himself/herself regarding the possession of required qualification, age, experience, etc., as stipulated above, before appearing in interview.
• Candidates with incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures i.e. self-attested copies of degree/certificates/marks sheets/experience certificate/reprint of important publications (if any), without photographs, signatures, and prescribed fee will not be allowed to appear in Walk-in-Interview.
• Candidates shall have to produce original documents/testimonials at the time of the interview, failing which, such candidates shall not be allowed for interview. The original certificates/degrees etc. of the candidate(s) are subject to verification before joining, in case of selection.

The application fee as detailed below is required to be submitted at the time of the interview in the form of a Demand Draft in favour of ‘Director, NIPER-SAS Nagar’ payable at SAS Nagar (Mohali)/Chandigarh:
i. Application fee for General and OBC category candidates: Rs. 500/-
ii. Application fee for SC/ST/PWD/female candidates : NIL

• Application fees in other forms will not be accepted.
• Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PwBD etc. will be as per the Government of India rules. The candidates are required to attach valid proof for claiming relaxation as per the guidelines prescribed by the Government of India from time to time.
• Confirmation for attending the Walk-in-Interview can be dropped at recruitmentcell@niper.ac.in with a copy to ajaykumar@niper.ac.in.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview.
• The Institute reserves the right to withdraw advertised position at any time without assigning any reason. Institute also reserves the right to fill or not to fill position and its decision in this regard shall be final.
