Gates Foundation Project Opens Opportunities for Life Sciences candidates at BRIC-NIPGR

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of one Research Associate-I (RA-I) in the Gates foundation funded project entitled “Development of climate resilient chickpea and brassica by gene editing”, under the supervision of Dr. Mukesh Kumar Meena, Scientist III, BRIC-NIPGR.

Post : Research Associate-I (RA-I) - (One post)

Emoluments : Rs. 58,000/- plus 27% HRA per month

Eligibility : Candidates should have Ph.D. degree in any branch of Biological / Life Sciences and fulfilling the norm/guidelines of DST OM No: DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26/03/2023 are eligible to apply. Candidate must be having research experience in the area of (i) plant-insect interaction 
(ii) CRISPR-based genome-editing 
(iii) plant transformation. Candidates with previous work experience in chickpea will be preferred. 

Desirable Qualification : Experience of RNA-Seq, confocal microscopy and proteomics techniques are desirable.

The position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. BRIC-NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidates against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidates. Reservation of post shall be as per Government of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of BRIC-NIPGR

A web-link with date and time of online interview will be E-mailed to the shortlisted candidates only. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
