Candidates are invited to appear before the selection committee for filling up the purely temporary position of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and one Project Associate-I (PA-I) in the “the Short-Term Research Fellowship” programme, under the supervision of Dr. Senthil-Kumar Muthappa, Scientist, BRIC-NIPGR. Emoluments will be at par with similar fellowships by DBT/DST and BRIC-NIPGR fellowship norms. The details of position are as under.
Post : one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and one Project Associate-I (PA-I)
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) - (One post)
Emoluments : Rs. 37000/- plus HRA per month
Qualification : Candidates holding a Master’s degree (with at least 55% marks) in Natural Sciences / Agriculture / Life sciences /Plant biology / Botany. Preference will be given to candidates having a degree in the field of Statistics/ Computational Biology/ Bioinformatics/ Machine learning and fulfils the guidelines of DST-OM No. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated June 26, 2023, are eligible to apply. Candidates with research experience in developing predictive models, machine learning pipelines, image-based disease prediction/assessment applications for dry root rot disease or related plant combined stress datasets will be preferred.
Project Associate-I (PA-I) - (One post)
Fellowships as per DBT/DST and BRIC-NIPGR norms.
Upper age limit : 35 years
Qualification : Candidates holding a Master’s degree (with at least 55% marks) in in Natural Sciences / Agriculture / Life sciences / Plant biology / Botany. Preference will be given to candidates having a degree in the field of Agronomy or equivalent and fulfilling the guidelines as per DST-OM number SR/S9/Z- 05/2019 dated July 10, 2020, are eligible to apply. Further, the upper age limit will be 35 years in case of Project Associate-I post. The candidate is required to have experience in crop plants in pot and field conditions. The candidate should have research experience in growing crop plants/phenotyping under pot, field-mimic, and field conditions. The project work involves crop cultivation, crop protection, image and sensor based data collection, routine maintenance of and implementation of external projects of the SPROUT (SpeedSeed Phenotyping and Resource Optimization for Unified Trait-analysis) facility.
The position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. BRIC-NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidates against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidates. Reservation of post shall be as per Government of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of BRIC-NIPGR.
The Fellowship amount for the above positions is at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST. The position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the scheme. Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at BRIC-National Institute of Plant Genome Research (BRIC-NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi – 110067 on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. onwards along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form along with self-attested copies of the date of birth, educational & experience certificates must be submitted at the time of registration at BRIC-NIPGR from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on June 8, 2026. Any candidate reporting after 11:00 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in interview. The candidates must ascertain eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data in given format and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts for verification. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to the disqualification of the candidate(s). Note: Incomplete application and those in the wrong format will be summarily rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
