AIIMS Announces Research Opportunities under PMABHIM for Microbiology / Life Sciences candidates

The Pradhan Mantri Swasthya SurakshaYojana (PMSSY) was announced in 2003 with the objectives of correcting regional imbalances in the availability of affordable/reliable tertiary healthcare services and also to augment facilities for quality medical education in the country. AIIMS, Bibinagar is one of the apex healthcare institutes being established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the PMSSY. To facilitate the creation of very important institutions in the country, the Government of India has legislated AIIMS Act under which AIIMS are established.

Applications are invited for filling up the following post under ICMR funded project “Capacity Building Project for Managing Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI) Outbreaks in Tertiary and Secondary Care Hospitals across India - A Hub and Spoke Model as part of Capacity Building Program for Pandemic Preparedness (CBPPP) under PMABHIM”, at the Department of Microbiology, AIIMS, Bibinagar, Telangana, purely on a contractual basis as per the details below

Project Research Scientist-I (Non- Medical) - 1 post
Essential Qualification and Experience : Post Graduate degree or higher degree in Medical Microbiology / Life Sciences/Epidemiology/ Molecular Biology/ Public Health, including the integrated PG degree, with 3-year post qualification experience in respective field. OR PhD in the above mentioned subjects
Consolidated Fixed Salary (per month) : Rs. 56000+30% HRA = Rs 72800

Project Technical Support-II - 1 post
Essential Qualification and Experience : Three Years Graduate degree in Medical Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Epidemiology/ Public Health + Two years experience in relevant subject OR
12th in Science + Diploma (DMLT or equivalent) + Five Years Experience in Medical Microbiology/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences
Consolidated Fixed Salary (per month) : Rs.20000+30% HRA= Rs 26000

Desirable Experience :
• Preference will be given to those with experience in Health sector, ICMR, AIIMS, NHM, CTD, NACO, etc. or in the Scientific Departments/Organisations with experience in project management.
• Prior involvement in Hospital Infection Control/AMP/AMSP research projects

Preferably should have experience in :
• Prior experience with training/ coordinating Infection Prevention Control Programs (IPC).
• Coordinating and conducting IPC trainings and audits.
• Basic level knowledge in data analysis platforms like Excel, SPSS, Epi Info etc.
• Knowledge of computer applications or Business Intelligence tools like Microsoft excel, PPT etc.
• Supporting public health surveillance system

Job description :
• Completion of any work assigned by PI and Co-PI to ensure the smooth functioning of the project.
• Overall coordination of project work within ICMR and AIIMS Delhi and 10 secondary care hospitals.
• Teaching of nursing / lab staff regarding all relevant project activities
• Relevant data entries into the forms
• Organization of workshops and awareness programs
• Preparation of project reports
• Writing research articles for publication in reputed journals.
• Handling project-related documents

Duration of Employment : The contract will initially be valid for 1.5 months. Upon satisfactory performance, the contract period will be extended until the project's completion at the PI's recommendation.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE : Preference will be given to those with experience in Health sector, ICMR, AIIMS, NHM, CTD, NACO, etc. or in the Scientific Departments/Organisations with experience in project management.  Prior involvement in Hospital Infection Control/AMP/AMSP research projects.

Terms and Conditions
• The initial contract appointment will be given for duration of three months only. Subsequently, the contract appointment will be extended till the end of the project only upon the PI's recommendation.
• The selection will not be an employment on the AIIMS Bibinagar payroll. Employment will automatically terminate upon completion of the duration provided in the appointment from the day of joining duties, and there is no liability for permanent employment on AIIMS, Bibinagar, or the principal investigator. Also, the candidates have no right to claim permanent employment based on this job.
• No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview. Interested candidates may appear for a walk-in interview. The decision of the Competent Authority will be final at every step. Candidates should bring a duly filled application form (As per the prescribed Proforma) and all original certificates of educational qualifications, and experience certificates, identity proof, along with two photographs and a set of self-attested photocopies of all certificates and relevant documents at the time of the interview.

Selection procedure
• The selection committee will scrutinize the applications received. Recruitment will be made through Interviews, and a written test will be conducted if there are more than 50 eligible candidates per post. Selection is based purely on merit.
