Openings for Senior Scientific Assistant at Forensic Science Laboratory - 40 Openings

The Forensic Science Laboratory Delhi is a multi - disciplinary scientific organization that includes highly organized, trained professionals and well equipped examination facilities as per ISO/IEC 17025: 2017. The Laboratory coordinates, develops and disseminates new information to investigators and fraternity members of Law Administration Agency through the innovative scientific techniques to resolve the conventional and new pattern of crime. In addition, the Laboratory is requested to assist in the scientific investigations of crime scenes, provide training and sharing knowledge and assist with the reconstruction of a crime.

Applications are Invited from eligible candidates to fill the post of Assistant (SSA) on contract basis for a period of one year or till regular recruitment, is earlier, as mentioned below.

Senior Scientific Assistant (Biology)
No of posts : 27 (UR-08, OBC-IO, SC- 03, ST-03, EWS-03)
Educational and other qualifications required : Essential : I) Master's degree in Zoology, Botany or Anthropology or Human Biology or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Genetics or Biotechnology or Molecular Biology or Forensic Science with Zoology or Botany or Forensic Science as one of the subject at B.Sc. level from a recognized University.
II) 2 years experience in analytical methods/research therein In the relevant field.
Desirable : (1) Doctorate degree in concerned discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.

Senior Scientific Assistant (Chemistry)
No of posts : 13 (UR-04, 06C-05, SC-01, ST-01 EWS-02)
Educational and other qualifications required : Essential : (i) Master's degree In Chemistry or Toxicology or Forensic Science with Chemistry as one of the subject at B.Sc. level from a recognized University or equivalent. (ii) 2 years research/analytical experience therein In the relevant field.
Desirable : (I) Doctorate degree In concerned discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.

Duties to be performed :
1. To provide scientific and technical assistance in the examination of Crime exhibits of concerned division, research studies &. surveys, training, reports etc.
2. To assist In maintenance, repair, usage of the laboratory equipment, keeping of stock registers and other quasi ministerial works.
3. To assist in operating/handling the sophisticated instruments of concerned division independently.
4. To assist NABL related work and any work assigned by Senior Officers/Officials of the laboratory from time to time.
5. To assist In maintaining the inventory of laboratory equipments & supplies.
6. To participate in maintaining safety and security of the laboratory.
7. To draft/initiate proposals regarding requirement of laboratory equipments, chemicals to be used in normal course of laboratory under the supervision of senior officers.
8. To assist in crime scene examination/investigation.
9. To maintain records of his/her work accomplishments.
10. Any other duty assigned by the Director and Senior Officers/Officials.

Terms and Conditions
1. Remuneration :
Fixed remuneration will be paid as under and no other allowances shall be admissible/paid.
Senior Scientific Assistant - Rs. 54,162/- per month consolidated.
2. Age Limit : As on closing date : Not exceeding 30 years [Age relaxation for reserved categories as per govt. Rules]
3. Reservation in respect of OBC candidate will be applicable as per O.M.No.F19(02)/ 2011/S.IV/Vol.I/856 dated 31.05.2021 Issued by Services Department, GNCT of Delhi.
4. The screening criteria of eligible candidates will be on the basis of FACT exam qualification during last three years.
5. Candidates may submit the duly filled application to Principal Director, Forensic Science Laboratory, Sector-14, Rohlni, Delhi-110085 either physically or by post latest by 15.05.2025 till 06.00 P.M. (closing date). No application shall be considered/acknowledged by any other mode except mentioned above.
6. Tenure of contract is one year or till regular recruitment whichever is earlier or unless terminated earlier.
7. No TA/DA will be paid.
8. In case Interview cannot be completed on the scheduled date/duration, the Interview shall be conducted on the next working day.
9. No correspondence or personal enquiries on telephone shall be entertained.
10. Candidates are required to bring all original documents about their educational qualification and other relevant documents along with their self - attested photocopies at the time of interview. Candidates are also required to bring any Identity proof along with self - attested copy i.e. Driving License / Voter I Card / Aadhaar Card /Bank pass book with photograph duly attested of any Nationalized Bank (at least 3 years old ) / pass port or any other proof deemed fit by this office.
11. The Head of Department (FSL), Govt, of NCT of Delhi can terminate the services at any time without assigning any reason. In case any selected candidate wishes to quit, one month prior notice or surrender of one month remuneration in lieu of Notice is required.
12. In the event of selection/ appointment the candidate shall have to submit an undertaking stating that he/ she shall not stake any claim nor file any court case for regularization of service In any Court of Law.
13. No Allowance / facility available to the regular employees shall be payable to person engaged.
14. The names of selected candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board and official website of FORENSIC SCIENCE LABORTORY, GNCT of Delhi. No postal /personal intimation will be sent to the candidates. The candidates must be ready to join immediately after the selection.
15. The contract staff will be required to work 24 X 7 In shift manner and can be posted anywhere in Delhi or on Mobile forensic vans.
16. Contractual staff may be allowed 8 Casual Leave and 2 Restricted Holidays in a Calendar . year or proportionally of tenure thereof. No earned leave, medical leave or any other
kind of leave will be permitted.
17. Selected candidates may be offered contract subject to verification of medical, character and antecedents.
18. No relaxation will be given In working hours to the selected candidate for any reason what so ever.
19. The selected candidates shall have to execute a contract agreement accepting the above terms and condition on a non-judlclal stamp paper of Rs.100/- before their appointment on contract basis.
20. If any holiday declared on scheduled dates due to reason what so ever, the Interview will be done on very next working day. Candidates are advised to check website fsl.delhi.gov.in for any changes/updates.
