Established on October 1, 1933 as University Department of Chemical Technology (popularly called UDCT) of the University of Bombay (now Mumbai), with the noble intention of advancing India’s knowledge reserves in chemical science and technology, the Institute has grown to become a premier (deemed) university devoted to education, training, research and industrial collaboration in chemical engineering, chemical technology, applied chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology and bio-processing. The then UDCT grew in stature over the years and was granted partial autonomy by the University of Mumbai in 1985, which was taken to the next echelon under the concept of autonomy propagated by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Research Associate I in a time bound research project for a temporary period, purely on contractual basis as per the following details.
Project Title : Development of Algae based value added compounds
Department : Department of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology
Project Tenure : Six months
Essential Qualification : PhD (Sci.) - Biotechnology in the field of Algal Biotechnology
Age Limit : 28Yrs
Age relaxation : The upper age limit is relax-able up-to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.
Fellowship : Rs. 75,000/- per month (Consolidated)
