Recruitment for M.Pharm, MSc under the CSIR-funded Project at IIIM

The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory,  Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).

Applications are invited from eligible and interested candidates for the following purely temporary positions under the CSIR-funded Project No. HCP-0007 entitled CSIR-Aroma Mission, Phase-III, tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu, and its Branch Lab at Sanat Nagar, Srinagar.

Project Associate-I [02 Positions] 
Post Code : 01
Essential Qualification(s) : M.Sc. in Botany / Biotechnology from a recognized University or equivalent. 
Desirable : CSIR-UGC / ICAR NET Exam qualified. Candidates with prior research experience on MAPs will be preferred. 
Additional Requirement : The candidates will have to travel extensively for extension activities of the project and field work at CSIR-IIIM Farms.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years 
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : i) Rs.31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through: (a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR/UGC NET or GATE (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. ii) Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Essential Qualification(s) : M. Sc. /M. Pharma /M.S. in Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Natural Products Chemistry from a recognized university or equivalent. 
Desirable : Research experience in natural product chemistry and medicinal chemistry will be preferred
Upper Age Limit : 35 years 
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : i) Rs.31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through: (a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR/UGC NET or GATE (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. ii) Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above


Project Associate-I [02 Positions]

Essential Qualification(s) : M.Sc. in any branch of Agricultural Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent. 
Desirable : Knowledge of Medicinal and Aromatic plants cultivation and quality planting material generation. Fieldwork and research work experience in Medicinal and Aromatic Plants preferred. 
Additional Requirement : The candidates may need to travel extensively throughout the country for the implementation of the project work

Project Associate-I [01 Position]

Essential Qualification(s) : M.Sc./M.Pharm/M.S. in Organic/ Analytical Chemistry/Natural Products Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Pharmacognosy from a recognized University or equivalent. 
Desirable : Experience in isolation of natural products from plants/microbes, Value addition of aroma produced (Oils, Marc etc) and Knowledge of HPLC, GC and expertise in NMR and Mass Spectroscopic analysis will be preferred
Upper Age Limit : 35 years

Project Associate-I [01 Position]

Essential Qualification(s) : M.Sc in Computer Science or B.Tech in Computer Science/IT from a recognized University or equivalent. 
Desirable : Able to design and develop web-based Applications/portals. 
Additional Requirement : Experience in Programming, database and API management, Scripting languages, management of web applications, etc

Senior Project Associate [01 Position] 
Post Code : 06
Essential Qualification(s) : i. M.Sc. in Biological Sciences/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Life Science/ Biochemical Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent. and ii. 4 years experience in Research & Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science & Technology Organizations. OR Doctoral Degree in Biological Sciences/ Microbiology/ Biochemical Engineering/ Biotechnology from a recognized University or equivalent. 
Desirable :  Experience in microbiology/ biotechnology in industrial product development, evidenced by patents & publications. 
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : Preference will be given to the candidates having experience working with farmers, startups, entrepreneurs and in organizing workshops, Exhibitions, and conferences. 
Upper Age Limit : 40 years 
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : Rs. 42,000/- + HRA

Note : The number of positions indicated above are tentative and may increase or decrease without any further notice.

Important Instructions
1. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagements shall be initially for a period of ONE YEAR or till the project duration, whichever is earlier. The engagements shall be extendable on yearly basis subject to performance review and project duration. The duration of the project No. HCP-0007 is up to 31.03.2026. 
2. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR – Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-IIIM, Jammu. 
3. Age will be reckoned as on the date of the Interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to these categories should send the certificates in the presribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject. 
4. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who have not remarried since, as per GOI/ CSIR provisions. 
5. The filled-in Google Form should be submitted by or before 16th June 2024 (Sunday) up to 5:00 PM. Google/Application Forms submitted after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview and summarily rejected.
6. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the online interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening of 26th June 2024 (Wednesday). Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the online interview on MS Teams. 
7. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies. 
8. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee. 
9. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the google form. 
10. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview. 
11. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.

The filled-in Google Form should be submitted by or before 16th June 2024 (Sunday) up to 5:00 PM.
