NIIRNCD Recruiting Life Sciences candidates

The National Institute for Implementation Research on Non-Communicable Diseases (NIIRNCD), located in Jodhpur, was originally established on 27 June 1984 as the Desert Medicine Research Centre (DMRC) and was renamed NIIRNCD on 7 December 2019. The Institute houses state-of-the-art facilities to conduct basic laboratory-based research across microbiology, biochemistry and vector biology. It is also actively strengthening its capacity and manpower to advance implementation research in the field of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). At present, NIIRNCD has a team of dedicated scientists and technical experts, supported by administrative and support staff.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for project human resource positions under the project entitled "Implementation Research to develop an optimized model of comprehensive intervention package and delivery strategies to reduce stillbirth." at ICMR-NIIRNCD, Jodhpur. Applications will be received from the individuals by hand on the date of Walk-in-interview / written test as mentioned below.

Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)
No. of vacancies : 01 Position (UR-01)
Essential Qualifications : Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences / Public Health including the integrated PG degrees, with three years post qualification Experience (Maternal health research and field work in tribal population) or PhD.
Age : Not exceeding 40 years on the date of Walk-in-interview / written test. However, Age relaxation as per rules is applicable.
Remuneration : Rs.67,000/-+ HRA per month fixed without any other allowances
Tenure : Initially for up to one year (extendable as per norms). However, the position is terminus at any point of time.
Place of work : Project work site at Udaipur or anywhere in India based on the requirements of the project.

Project Technical Support-III
No of vacancies : 03 Positions (OBC-01, EWS-01, ST-01)
Essential Qualifications : Graduate in Science/BAMS/BHMS + three years’ experience.
Or
Post-Graduate (Zoology/Biochemistry/Sociology/ Life Science/ MPH.
Age : Not exceeding 35 years on the date of Walk-in-interview / written test. However, Age relaxation as per rules is applicable.
Remuneration : Rs.28,000/-+ HRA per month fixed without any other allowances
Tenure : Initially for up to one year (extendable as per norms). However, the position is terminus any point of time.
Place of work : Project work site at Udaipur or anywhere in India based on the requirements of the project.

General Terms and Conditions
i. The above project positions are purely on temporary basis only.
ii. Candidates, those who have rendered service in ICMR Projects / ICMR Institutes for more than three years are not eligible for this Walk-in.
iii. The advertised positions are tentative without commitment for its filling. Recruitment will depend upon requirement of project and approval of the competent authority.
iv. Emoluments: The rates of emoluments / stipend shown in this advertisement are project specific and may vary according to sanction of the funding agency of the Project. Payment of emoluments to the project person will depend on availability of funds from the funding agency.
v. The Director & Appointing Authority has the right to accept / reject any application without assigning any reason(s) and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
vi. The selected candidate should work for a period of at least one month, failing which, the emoluments drawn by him / her has to be forfeited.
vii. The engagement can be terminated with one-month notice from either side without assigning any reason.
viii. Candidates already employed should submit a “No Objection Certificate” from their present Employer / PI at the time of Walk-in-interview / written test failing which he / she will not be allowed to appear for Interview / written test.
ix. Since, the project position(s) is / are temporary; the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointment at ICMR-NIIRNCD or continuation of his / her services in any other project.
x. The results of the final selection will be placed on ICMR-NIIRNCD and ICMR web sites.

xi. The recruited project person(s) is / are governed as per ICMR project staff recruitment guidelines and will have to give the undertakings before joining.
xii. At the time of joining duty, the candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualifications (from SSC onwards), No Objection Certificate from present employer if working in ICMR Projects (compulsory), SC / ST / OBC / EWS certificate, Experience, Aadhaar Card &PwBD Certificate (if applicable) for availing age relaxation, passport size photograph along with one set of photocopies of the certificates duly attested (can be self¬attested) for verification.
xiii. Qualifications should be achieved from recognized Institutions / Universities only.
Experience certificate should clearly state the nature of work during the period of employment with dates. Experience in the relevant discipline / field should be from a reputed institution / organization recognized by the relevant authority.
xiv. Age relaxation will be admissible in respect of SC / ST / OBC candidates, retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects) and Ex-servicemen etc. in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government / DoPT / ICMR from time to time. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other research projects will also be
xv. admissible for experienced and skilled persons. SC / ST / OBC will be given age relaxation in respect of the project positions reserved for them only and not for UR positions.
xvi. The conditions of reservations for EWS shall be governed by the norms of DoPT OM No. 336039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 19.01.2019 and 31.01.2019. Candidates applying in the EWS category should submit an “Income and Asset Certificate”.
xvii. The Director, ICMR-NIIRNCD reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of project positions or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the project positions at any time, without assigning any reasons thereof. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
xviii Date of Interview / written test may be changed due to administrative reasons. Hence, candidates are advised to check website before appearing for Interview / written test.
xix. Candidates applying for more than one project position should separately apply for each project position.
xx. Experience from the date of completion of minimum essential educational qualification shall only be counted.

xxi. Submission of incorrect or false information shall disqualify the candidature at any stage.
xxii. Since the project positions are purely on temporary basis, no benefit of Provident Fund, Leave Travel Concession, Medical, etc. will be available to the appointee.
xxiii. Age, Qualification, Experience etc., will be reckoned as on the date of Walk-in-interview /
. written test.
xxiv. No TA / DA will be given for attending Walk-in-interview / written test.
xxv. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification / experience will not bestow any guarantee of selection.
xxvi. Candidates, who fail to bring the original certificates at the time of joining, will not be allowed . to join the selected project position. Candidates reporting after the scheduled date / time willalso not be allowed to appear in the Walk-in-interview / written test.

xxix Laptop/Tablet, logarithm table, digital diary, mobile phone, smart watch, Bluetooth Devices / earphones / earbuds, other electronic gadgets, text books, notes etc., will not be allowed inside the Examination Hall / Interview.

Selection procedure :
i. Only eligible candidates will appear for Walk-in-interview / written test. In case of more than 30 candidates, a written test may be taken. The qualifying marks for the written test will be for SC / ST: 35% UR / OBC / EWS: 40%
ii. The candidates scoring qualifying marks shall be interviewed as mentioned in the below table, if written test is conducted :

Project Technical Support-III : Generally, Up to Top 15 candidates appear for this position.
iii. The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written test / interview subject to qualifying the skill test, wherever applicable.
iv. The final merit shall be prepared on the basis of the marks of the written test and interview. In case of non-conductance of written test being less than 30 candidates, the merit shall be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the interview.

Candidates are required to submit the application form duly filled along with one set of photocopies of all certificates. All the original certificates for verification must be brought failing which their candidature cannot be considered.
