Applications are invited for post of Project Associate under the ICMR-funded project at IIT Ropar

IIT Ropar community has undertaken an important exercise of developing the Mission, Vision and Strategic Plan for the coming years. The exercise was carried out in active consultation with Indian Institute of Management Calcutta who have got technical expertise in this area. A participative bottom up approach was followed in formulating the Mission, Vision and Strategic Plan. Inputs from the entire IIT Ropar fraternity, MHRD, Board of Governors, Alumni and Industries were considered in the process. Finally we have arrived at the following Motto, Mission and Vision statements for our institute.

Post : Project Associate II

Applications are invited for the post of Project Associate II under the ICMR-funded project as per the details given below

Project title : “Bolstering BCG efficacy by expressing memory enhancing cytokines IL-7 and IL-15 to elicit long-lasting memory T cells and protection against Mycobacterium tuberculosis”. 
Principle investigator : Prof. Javed N. Agrewala Department of Biomedical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, Rupnagar, Punjab- 140001 
Project Duration : 2 Years

Salary : Rs. 35,000 + HRA per month (consolidated). 
Essential Qualifications : Post-graduate degree in Life Sciences or Allied Sciences with two years of research experience in Microbiology / Immunology / Molecular Biology / Gut microbiome / Bioinformatics. 
Desirable : Publications in a high-impact journals.
Age limit : 35 years on the last date of submission of application.

Terms & Conditions
1. The selected candidate will be initially appointed for six months. 
2. Appointment may be extended depending on the satisfactory work performance or till the validity of the project, or whichever is earliest. 
3. It is candidates’ responsibility to ascertain and ensure their eligibility as per the prescribed qualifications and experience. Any misinformation detected at any stage will make the candidate liable for legal action. Permission to appear in the selection process does not approve the eligibility of the candidate. Even after qualifying the selection process, the candidate may be rendered disqualified at the time of document verification if he/ she does not fulfil essential eligibility criteria.
4. Tenure: The assignment will be governed as per the rules / instructions received from the ICMR / competent authority from time to time. This appointment will not vest any right to claim by the candidate for regular appointment or permanent absorption in IIT Ropar or ICMR or for continued contractual appointment. 
5. Expiry of Contract: The contractual appointment can be terminated at any time by either side by giving 30 days’ notice or salary in lieu thereof. 6. Leave: The leave entitlement of the appointee shall be governed in terms of the ICMR/IIT Ropar leave policy governing extramural research projects as amended from time to time. 
7. Accommodation: No hostel or any other accommodation will be provided by the Institute / Principal Investigator. 
8. The candidate who is already in government service shall submit 'No Objection Certificate" from the present employer at the time of the Interview.
9. The prescribed qualification is minimum and merely possessing the same does not entitle any candidate for selection. 
10. The candidate should send self-attested photocopies of the relevant documents and publications.

11. The candidate applying in response to his advertisement should satisfy themselves regarding their eligibility in all respects. 
12. He / She is expected to conform to the rules of conduct and discipline as applicable to the institute employees. 
13. The decision of the competent authority regarding the selection of the candidate will be final and no representation will be entertained in this regard. No claim regarding eligibility will be entertained. 
14. The candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law. 
15. In case any information given or declared by the candidate is found to be false or if the candidate has willfully suppressed any material information relevant to his appointment, he/she will be liable to be removed from the service and any action taken as deemed fit by the appointing authority. 
16. Applications incomplete in any aspect will be summarily rejected. 
17. The Competent Authority reserves the right of any amendment, cancellation or changes to this advertisement as a whole or in part without assigning any reason or giving notice. 
18. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview. No other allowances are payable.
