The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai was established as the Department of Chemical Technology on 1st October 1933 by the University of Mumbai, through active support of industries and philanthropists. The Institute was most popularly known as UDCT, Mumbai. Research has been an integral part of ICT since its inception and it has created over 500 first generation entrepreneurs. The UDCT grew significantly in stature and was granted autonomy under UGC regulations by the University of Mumbai and further converted into an Institute on 26th January 2002. Under the World Bank TEQIP programme, the Maharashtra government granted it full autonomy in June 2004.

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions in a BRICS (DST) funded research project.

Project Title: “Development of fundamentals for integrated catalytic processing of BlOmass to fuels and value-added chemicals”

Sponsor: Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Qualifications: Possessing M. Sc. In Chemistry (Organic, Analytical, Physical) or equivalent degree with at least 60% marks.

Experience: Knowledge of wet chemical synthesis of nano materials /organic synthesis and characterization with a strong interest in analytical chemistry.

Remuneration/Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- p.m.

The project fellow will be appointed initially for 6 months/one year and the tenure may be extended based on performance for the subsequent period. All appointments are terminated with end of the project.

Age Limit: The upper age limit for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) shall be 28 years as on 10 may.

Age relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years' for SC/ST/OBC and Physically handicapped candidates.

JRF may get Ph D admission provided admission criteria of ICT Mumbai is fulfdled.
