Job Description
Direct, oversee and coordinate all activities, deliverables and resources within respective group or disease area. Ensure trials are conducted to a consistently high standard with respect to cost, quality and timelines. Facilitate the sharing of resources between groups in order to meet company goals and objectives. Work seamlessly with partner groups. Either lead components of large non-clinical initiatives, lead small non-clinical initiatives or contribute to and implement initiatives to establish and maintain Novartis Statistical Programming as best in class in the industry. 

1. Selects, recruits, develops, manages, motivates, coaches and appraises the performance of direct reports to ensure high quality performance across his/her Statistical Programming Group.
2. Facilitates a partner and customer orientated Statistical programming group, role modelling behaviors for more junior members of staff.
3. In partnership with the Project programmer, manages and coordinates the assignment of resources and workload within his/her group or disease area, and ensures sharing of resources between groups in order to meet company objectives and priorities.
4. May act as a subject Matter Expert for key operational areas influencing Statistical Programming.
5. Provides all necessary support to help address and resolve issues. Identifies solutions for remediation
6. Understands Health Authority requirements and is able to participate in Health Authority inspections as required
7. Builds and establishes a strong team spirit and creates a team founded on technical ability, excellence in performance and exhibiting the Novartis values and behaviors
8. Leads and supports clinical and non-clinical special projects and initiatives
9. Highlight the need for training programs and support the establishment of these (technical and professional skills) for Statistical Programming staff and ensure staff training is conducted and properly documented
10. Ensures that team are tracking time in order to further evaluate business needs with regard to capacity forecasting and increasing productivity
11. Maintain external focus by interacting and influencing industry working groups and organizations

Candidate Profile
University or college degree in life science, computer science, pharmacy, nursing or equivalent relevant degree. Fluent English (oral and written). Ideally 10 years’ experience in Drug Development with at least 6 years' in Statistical Programming.
