NBRI is a premier plant based multidisciplinary, state-of-art national R&D Centre of CSIR undertaking research from classical taxonomy to cutting edge areas of modern biology-including both applied and basic research in the fields of biochemistry, bioinformatics, biotechnology, conservation biology, cytogenetics, environmental sciences, ethnopharmacology, floriculture, microbiology, molecular biology and genetic engineering, pharmacognosy, pharmacy, physiology, phytochemistry, plant biodiversity,  plant breeding, taxonomy and tree biology, for the conservation and sustainable utilization of the non crop plant genetic resources of the country.

Eligible & interested candidates are invited for interview for the purely temporary positions in the following areas under the sponsored projects tenable at CSIR-NBRI.

Area I: Molecular Biology & Biotechnology

JRF(Project)/ Project Assistant Level II
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. in Botany /Biochemistry/Biotechnology/ Genetics/Plant Science with CSIR/UGC/ ICAR/DBT NET-JRF/LS /GATE qualifications.
For PA II: M.Sc.(55%) in one of the above subject.
Desirable : Experience with medicinal plants using HPLC analysis, experience on GBS, SNP Typing and association analysis. OR Previous experience in DNA profiling/ molecular phylogeny studies, SSR typing experience on 96- capillary platform.
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/p.m.+ 16% HRA

The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of JRF (Project)/PA II in the project entitled, "A combining approach of GBS and ECOTILLING based GWAS study for expediting trait-associated genes/QTLs/molecular tags for thebaine content in Opium Poppy & "NER-Banana program for the NE (Group 1 Banana biodiversity project; App. No.2) Genome characterization of Banana/Plantain Genetic Resources of North eastern region and their utilization in Multicentre planning for commercial improvement" or other projects if needed

Area II: Biodiversity & Bioprospection
Main Project Title"Bioresources and sustainable livelihoods in North East India"

Research Associate
Essential Qualifications : Ph.D. in Botany/ Plant Science/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Environmental Science/Life Science
Desirable : Experience in non-flowering plant (Lichen, bryophyte, pteridophytes, fungi) sampling, identification, curation, data analysis and molecular studies
Age : 35 years
Stipend : Rs.38000/-p.m. +16% HRA

Project Assistant Level III
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. (55%) in Botany/ Plant Science/ Environmental Science/ Microbiology with 02 years of experience after M.Sc.
Desirable : Experience in taxonomical studies and field survey of flowering or non-flowering plants.
Age : 35 years
Stipend : Rs.28000/- p.m. Consolidated

Project Assistant Level II
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. (55%) in Botany/ Plant Science/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Environmental Science/ Life Science.
Desirable : The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of R.A/PA Level-lll/PA-leve subproject entitled- "Quantitative assessment and mapping of the diversity of non-f bryophytes, fungi, pteridophytes) of Northeast India" or other projects if needed.
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/- p.m. Consolidated

Research Associate
Essential Qualifications : Ph.D. in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Genetics/ Plant Science OR 03 years research experience after M.Sc. in any of the above subjects with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed(SCI) journal.
Desirable : Experience in plant sampling population genetics, molecular markers and DNA sequencing analyses and molecular phylogenetic studies on plants.
Age : 35 years
Stipend : Rs.36000/-p.m. +16% HRA

JRF( Project)/ Project Assistant Level II
Essential Qualifications : For JRF(Project): M.Sc. in Botany/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry/ Genetics/ Plant Science with CSIR/UGC/ ICAR/DBT NET-JRF/LS /GATE qualifications. For PA II: M.Sc.(55%) in one of the above subject.
Desirable : Previous experience in plant surveys, identification, taxonomic research and/or DNA profiling studies
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/- p.m. +16% HRA

The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of R.A/JRF (Project)/PA Level II in the main project's subproject entitled- "Integrative taxonomic analysis for assessment of diversity and phylogenetic relationships among Quercus and Citrus from Northeast Region" or other projects if needed

JRF(Project)/ Project Assistant Level II
Essential Qualifications : For JRF (Project): M.Sc. in Botany/ Biotechnology / Biochemistry/-Genetics/ Plant Science with CSIR/UGC/ ICAR/DBT NET-JRF/LS /GATE qualifications. For PA II: M.Sc.(55%) in one of the above subject

Desirable : Experience in plant sampling, plant taxonomy, pharmacognosy, isolation and characterization of bioactive molecules from medicinal plants, chemical fingerprinting pharmacology, herbal formulation development, nanoparticles fabrication and their characterization etc.
Age : 35 years
Stipend : Rs.40000/-p.m. +16% HRA

The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of JRF (Project)/PA Level II in the main project's subproject entitled- "Assess the economic value of bio-resources and their role in meeting the societal needs and sustainable development goals" or other projects if needed.

JRF(Project)/ Project Assistant Level II
Essential Qualifications :
For JRF(Project): M.Sc. in Botany/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Organic Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Science/ Pharmacology/ Pharmacognosy/ Nano technology/Applied Physics/ Agronomy/ Horticulture/ Plant Science with CSIR/UGC/ ICAR/DBT NET-JRF/LS /GATE qualifications. For PA II: M.Sc.(55%) in one of the above subject

Desirable : Previous experience in plant taxonomy/isolation and characterization of bioactive molecules from medicinal plants, handling LC-MS/MS, NMR, IR, HPLC, HPTLC etc. pharmacology, chemotyping, , pharmacognosy, herbal product development, in- vivo biological activities using animal model system (rat and mouse), nanoparticles fabrication, nano-formulation development and its characterization, agro- technologies development of medicinal plants etc.

Plant Ecology & Environmental Sciences
Essential Qualifications : For JRF (Project): M.Sc. in Botany/ Plant Science/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Plant Physiology with CSIR/UGC/ ICAR/DBT NET-JRF/LS /GATE qualifications. For PA II: M.Sc.(55%) in one of the above subject.
Desirable : Research experience in area of plant physiology. OR Working experience in enzymology and protein profiling.
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/-p.m + 16%HRA

Molecular Biology & Biotechnology
Essential Qualifications : For JRF (Project): M.Sc. in Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Genetics/Botany/Plant Science/ Biotechnology with CSIR/UGC/ ICAR/DBT NET-JRF/LS /GATE qualifications. For PA II: M.Sc.(55%) in one of the above subject.
Desirable : Experience in area of molecular markers development and its applications in breeding of field crops.
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/-p.m + 16%HRA

Microbiology
Essential Qualifications : For JRF (Project): M.Sc in Microbiology/Botany/Plant Science / Biotechnology/ Biochemistry with CSIR/UGC/ ICAR/DBT NET- JRF/LS /GATE qualifications. For PA II: M.Sc.(55%) in one of the above subject.
Desirable : Working experience in area of plant microbe interaction.
Age : 30 years
Stipend : Rs.25000/-p.m + 16%HRA

The candidates selected will be engaged for the position of JRF (Project)/PA Level II in the main project's subproject entitled- "Adaptation strategies of rice varieties of Indo-Gangetic Plains to climate change" or other projects if needed. Age of the candidate will be reckoned as on date of walk in interview. However, Age is relaxable for all the positions as per Government of India/CSIR instructions.

Time & Venue: 10:30 AM at Conference Room, T.N. Khushoo Block NBRI, Lucknow

CONDITIONS:
HRA will be admissible as per sanction of the projects.
a)  The Application form will be provided at the venue on the date. However, candidates may downloc the application form in advance from the website  nbri.res.in. At the time of interview candidati should bring one latest photograph, original documents along with self attested copy of certificates  examinations passed (starting from matriculation), certificate indicating date of birth, caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC) and experience certificate, etc. Tentative mark sheets/certificates and 'result awaited' will not be considered. All eligible candidates are requested to be present at the venue on tf said date one hour before the scheduled time for necessary documents verification etc.
b) Mode of Selection: Through Interview. However, if langb, number of candidates turn up, a Screenig test comprising of multiple choice objective questions may be held for short listing the candidates fi interview. The short listed candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee and, based on W performance in the interview; a panel of recommended candidates will be formed. The panel shall I: utilized as and when the requirement arises in the projects in the relevant field/area. Candidates ha\ the option to interact in Hindi/English before the committee. In case of turning up of large no. i candidates, interview may continue for next day.

The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co- terminus with the sponsored project Further the above stipend(s) is tentative and the same will be finally decided based on the availability/provision of funds in the relevant sponsored projects.

d) In case of Universities/institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/institute.
e ) To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and posse the deeree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects should turn UP for walk in interview.
