Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal. The dream of HP government finally came true in 1983 when the foundation stone of this National lab was laid as CSIR Complex Palampur by Prof. Nurul Hasan, former Vice President of CSIR, with then Chief Minister of HP chairing the function.

Stipend (Per Month) [Consolidated] : Rs.25,000/-p.m
Educational Qualification(s) Essential/Desirable : Master Degree in Life Sciences with 55% and CSIR1 UGCl ARS NET qualified.
Sponsored Project(s) : “In vitro adventitious root cultures of Picrorhiza kurroa as an alternative source of nutraceutical ingredients” (GAP-0229) [Up to 14.03.2021].

Stipend (Per Month) [Consolidated] : Rs.25,000/-p.m
Educational Qualification(s) Essential/Desirable : M.Sc. in Botany/Forestry/ Environmental Sciences with 55% marks and CSIR/UGC NET /JRF/LS qualified.
Sponsored Project(s) : (i) “Indian Bioresource Information Network(IBIN) Geoportal Phase III: Enhancing Bioresource Services, Institutional Linkages and Outreach” (GAP-0230) [Up to 19.03.2021].

Age Relaxation:
5 years for SC/ST/Woman, 3 years for OBC and widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not remarried are allowed age concession up to the age of 35 years, (up to 40 years for members of SC/STs).
The number of positions as advertised may vary depending upon the suitability of candidates and assess needs of the candidates in the relevant projects.

Eligible candidates may appear for "Walk-in-lnterview(s)” on the dates, time and place mentioned above along with an application on prescribed format which is available on the CSIR-IHBT, website “ihbt.res.in” along with attested photocopies of testimonials of their age, educational qualifications, experience, reserved category, etc. at the time of interview. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the duration of the projects. There will be no right implicit or explicit for regular position or any post in CSIR-IHBT, whatsoever. Candidates must also bring with them original certificates of testimonials at the time of appearing for the interview failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear for interview. No TA will be paid for attending the interview.

The Selection Committee(s) may adopt the selection criterion at its own i.e. either by conducting direct interview or written test followed by interview on the same day.
The decision of the DirectcqCSIR-IHBT, Palampur shall be final for engagement Junior Research Fellow at CSIR-IHBT, Palampur(H P ).

How to reach at CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, Distt.: Kangra (H.P.) : Candidate can reach by following mode of journey at the venue of interview :-
1. By Train :i). up to Una, Amb (H.P.) and (ii). up to Chakki Bank, Pathankot Railway stations(H.P.).
2. By Bus : ISBT, Delhi to ISBT, Palampur via Chandigarh, Una, Dehra, Kangra (H.P.).
3. By Air :From New Delhi up to Dharamshala, Gaggal Airport(H.P.)

Note : Result awaited candidates are not eligible for interview.
