Applications are invited for JRF/SRF at Sambalpur University

The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on 10th December, 1966 to fulfill long cherished dream of the people of Western Odisha for establishment of a University. The University started functioning from 1st January, 1967 with Prof.Parsuram Mishra as the first Vice-Chancellor. The University was inaugurated on 4th January, 1967 by Hon’ble Chancellor A.N.Khosla. The University started functioning in 1967 in a rented private building at Dhanupali, Sambalpur and in Government building at Ainthapali, Sambalpur from 1968 - 72. In the year 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla.

Application in plain paper along with biodata and attested copies of the certificates and their additional qualifications (if any) are invited for the post of one JRF/SRF on temporary basis for the DBT (NER BPMC) funded project to be operated in the Dept, of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, Sambalpur University.

Project: “Development of synthetic derivatives of natural compound, Noscapine as tubulin binding chemotherapeutic agent and evaluation of its synergistic effect with Taxotere for management of h uman breast cancer".

Qualifications: M.Sc. with 55% marks in Life Science / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics / Biochemistry / Botany / Zoology / Microbiology.

Fellowship Amount: For JRF with NET qualification the emoluments will be Rs. 25,000/- +10% HRA per month for the 1st two years and Rs. 28,000/- for the 3rd year for SRF. However, for JRF without NET qualification the emoluments shall be Rs. 12,000/- + 10% HRA per month for the last two years and Rs. 14,000/-+HRA for the 3rd year for SRF.

Duration of the Project: Three years

Quotations are also invited from suppliers/firms with valid GST certificates and PAN card for the supply of (a) Cryostat Microtome and (b) Chemicals, Kits and Consumables for the Projects on or before 12.06.2018.

The project details and requirements are available with the concerned PI. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
