NCCS requires M.Pharm, M.Sc as Junior Research Fellow, Research Associate, Project Assistant, Doctoral Fellow

The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) took birth as National Tissue Culture Facility in March 11, 1986 with a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of University of Pune campus, Pune.

The interview program for the following temporary project posts tenable at NCCS, Pune.

Post: Junior Research Fellow, Research Associate, Project Assistant, Doctoral Fellow

Sr. No . 06- Research Associate (One Post)
Name of the project: “Regulation of CD44 splicing by tumor suppressor SMAR1: Implications in cancer metastasis ” under supervision of Dr. Samit Chattopadhyay, Scientist ‘G’
Upper Age limit: 35 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential: Ph.D. in any branch of life science OR Equivalent degree OR M D/MD/MDS OR MVSc/MPharm with three years of research/clinical/ teaching experience.
Desirable: Experience in Molecular Biology techniques, Protein purification, Crystallography etc. OR Experience in Immunobiology will be preferable.
Note: Those who have s ubmitted Ph.D. thesis may also apply.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 24,000/- + 20% HRA
Tenure: One and half years

Sr. No . 01- Junior Research Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project: “Studies on the Inter - TLR regulation of TLR expression and function” under supervision of Dr. Bhaskar Saha, Scientist ‘G
Upper Age limit: 28 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential: M.Sc. in Biotechnology or Equivalent d egree wi th minimum of 55% marks in any branch of life science and having qualified NET/GATE/LS.
Desirable: Experience in working with toll - like receptors and Leishmania infection.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 22,000/- + 20% HRA
Tenure: One Year and One Months

Sr. No . 02- Junior Research Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project: “ Molecular pathways regulating ova rian cancer cell plasticity and stem cell properties ” under supervision of Dr. Sharmila Bapat, Scientist ‘F ’
Upper Age limit: 28 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential: M.Sc. (Bioinformatics) or Equivalent d egree wi th minimum of 55% marks in any branch of life s cience and having qualified NET/GATE/LS.
Desirable: At least six months experience in computation involving microarray data and networks analysis.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 12,000/ - + 15 % HRA
Tenure: One Year

Sr. No . 03- Junior Research Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project: “Metabolomic profiling for biomarkers identification of novel po tential biomarkers in breast cancer using mass spectrometry and bioinformatics” under supervision of Dr. Srikanth Rapole , Scientist ‘ C ’
Upper Age limit: 28 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential: M.Sc. in chemistry or Equivalent d egree wi th minimum of 55% marks in any branch of life s cience an d having qualified NET/GATE/LS.
Desirable: Experience in clinical research and LC - MS, MALDI - MS, GC - MS analysis. Ready to travel in many places for collecting clinical samples may be given preference.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 12,000/ - + 20 % HRA
Tenure: Two Year

Qualification & Experience: Essential: M.Sc. or Equivalent d egree wi th minimum of 55% marks in any branch of life science and having qualified NET/GATE/LS.

Tenure: Seven months

Sr. No . 05- Project Assistant (One Post)
Name of the project: “ Small non - coding RNA mediated defense and counter - defense in the antiviral immune system of silkworm ” under supervision of Dr. Jyoti Singh, INSPIRE Faculty Fellow
Upper Age limit: 28 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential: M.Sc. or Equiv alent d egree wi th minimum of 55% marks in any branch of life science.
Desirable: Minimum six months experience in Molecular Biology and other biochemical techniques.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 12,000/ - + 20 % HRA
Tenure: Three years and seven months

Sr. No . 07- Post - Doctoral Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project: “ The role of endocytosis in regulation of stem cell functions and cell fate decisions during early development ” under super vision of Dr. Deepa Subramanyam , Scientist ‘D’
Upper Age limit: 35 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential: Ph.D. in any branch of life s cience OR Equivalent degree.
Desirable: Experience in animal handling, isolation of early embryos, stem cell culture, molecular biology, cell biological tech niques and manipulation and culture of mouse embryos. Note: Those who have submitted Ph.D. thesis may also apply.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 40,000/ - Fixed
Tenure: Two years

Name of the project: “Exploring the neurogenic potential of Bone Marrow Stromal Cells ( BMSC,s) f ollowing inhibition of BMP signaling” under supervision of Dr. Nibedita Lenka, Scientist ‘F’
Upper Age limit: 35 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential: Ph.D. in any branch of life science OR Equivalent degree.
Desirable: Experience on Stem Cell research and with good verbal and written commu nication skills in English. Experience on Developmental biology is a plus.

* Mere fulfilling the minimum prescribed qualifications and experience will not vest any right in a candid ate for calling for interview. The Centre reserves the right to call for interview only those candida tes who in its opinion are likely to be suitable. However, no any correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
* Applications received after the due date and / or without the copies of the required certificates will not be considered. Incomplete appli cations will be rejected.
* Candidates should apply by filling up Application f orm available on the NCCS webs ite. Duly filled Application f orm should send us by email to academics@nccs.res.in on or before 28/05/2014 .
* Scanned copy of Ph. D. degree a ward OR Ph. D. d egree submission certificate, if applicable, Dat e of birth certificate, M. Sc. d egree certificate OR M.Sc. mark sheet should be send along with application f orm for eligibility and verification purpose.
* Candidates are required to mention the post preference as per t heir intrest and research area in the Application form.
* Candidates should mention title of the thesis, list of publications with full references in the ap plication form if applied for 06 - RA or 07 - PDF or 08 - RA post (s) .
* List of shortlisted candidates call ed for interview will be published on our website by 5.00 pm onwards on 30/05 /2014.
