Gauhati Universities Post Graduate Correspondence school started in May, 1998 with the objective of helping those who could not enroll as regular students. The PGCS aims at providing an opportunity to these students to obtain a Post Graduate degree of the Gauhati University through the mode of correspondence education. The degree from PGCS shall have the same standard and status as the regular Post Graduate degree as the syllabi for the two courses are the same.

Post: Junior Research Fellow

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of a JRF under the 'DBT’s RGYI Programme for the project entitled “Understanding host pathogen interaction in Aquilaria malachanism and molecular mechanism of agarwood formation” in the Department of Bioengineering and Technology, GUIST, Gauhati University.

Qualifications: M.Sc/M.Tech/M. Pharm in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/life science and related areas. Experience in Molecular Biology is desirable. Candidates having NET/GATE may be preferred. Fellowship will be provided as per the DBT, Govt, of India. Candidates may send application with complete biodata through email (sofiabanu2@gmail.com) and a hard copy to Dr, Sofia Banu, Principal Investigator, Department of Biotechnology and Bioengineering, GUIST, Gauhati University, Guwahati-14 on or before May 30th, 2014. Only short listed candidates will be intimated for the interview. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the same.
