Advertisement No.: P.R.O./739, dated 11/03/2026, online applications are invited for the purpose of making a waiting list for filling up the current vacant posts of the below cadres of Surat Municipal Corporation through direct recruitment. As per the prevailing provisions of the recruitment rules and examination rules of the concerned post, the candidates who fulfill the qualifications and are willing to apply online at suratmunicipal.gov.in from 01/04/2026 (Time: 11:00 AM) to 15/04/2026 (Time: 11:00 PM).  Before applying online, the candidate should carefully study the information and instructions related to the recruitment mentioned below and fill the online application form.

No of posts : 70

Educational Qualification : Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized University or equivalent. Registration with Gujarat Pharmacy Council is required.  Candidate should have basic knowledge of computer and should have knowledge of computer courses/operations as recommended by the Government from time to time in this regard.  
– Knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi language is required.  

Age Limit : Not more than 35 years.  Not applicable in Surat Municipal Corporation. Age limit regulations for employees performing
Training allowance : Fixed for first three years  

Monthly salary : Rs. 17,500/-  
Rs. 4500-7000/-  (Pay Band: 2000-20200,  Grade Pay: 2800)  (Pay Matrix: 29200-92300) (Level-5)

General Arrangements
1. Out of the above cadres, a final waiting list will be prepared by the Adhikari Committee for Rank No. 4 and for Rank No. 1 to 3 and 5 to 45 based on the criteria deemed appropriate by the Appointment Authority. Through which the criteria for conducting Return Test/Practical Test/Oral Interview will be determined taking into account the basic qualification and/or experience of each post and the candidates whose applications have been accepted will be informed about it by publishing a call letter on the website and they will be informed through a message on the mobile number mentioned in the application form.
2. If this advertisement is cancelled or the application for any cadre needs to be changed or cancelled for any reason, the Appointment Authority of Surat Municipal Corporation shall have the full right/authority to do so and shall not be bound to give any reasons for this.
3.  Considering the number of applications received as per the advertisement, the decision of the Hon'ble Municipal Commissioner regarding consideration of all the candidates for written examination/practical examination/oral interview as part of the recruitment process will be final.
4. Candidates for the above posts will have to reach the place indicated for document verification/written/practical/oral examination at their own expense. In this regard, no allowance will be paid by Surat Municipal Corporation.
5. The date and necessary instructions for document verification, if required for this advertisement, will be posted on the website of Surat Municipal Corporation at that time and will be informed through a message on the mobile number. So that the mobile number and e-mail address indicated while applying online should be maintained till the completion of the recruitment process, which will be in your interest.  Surat Municipal Corporation will not be responsible for any future situation arising due to change of e-mail or phone number.
6. The applicant candidate shall have to pass the CCC examination for ranks 1 to 7, 11 and 27 and CCC examination for ranks 8 to 10, 12 to 26, 28 to 34, 36 to 40, 42 to 44 within 1 (one) year of his appointment as per the Monthly General Meeting Resolution No. 267/2008 dated 24-03-2008/through the institution notified by the Government from time to time. Those who have already passed this examination or a degree recognized as equivalent to CCC / CCC* by the State Government or have taken training provided by Surat Municipal Corporation shall have to submit the certificate along with the application.
7.  The reserved seats for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Socially and Educationally Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections will be reserved only for the candidates belonging to the reserved category of origin of the State of Gujarat.
8. Candidates belonging to the reserved category will be able to apply for unreserved seats but the criteria for their selection will be applicable only to the unreserved category.
9. When 33% of the total vacancies are reserved for women candidates in the category mentioned in the advertisement, the remaining vacancies, other than the vacancies reserved for women candidates, shall not be considered as reserved for male candidates only. Selection of male and female candidates for these vacancies will be made on the basis of merit. For example, out of the total 10 vacancies, 03 vacancies are reserved for male candidates, but the remaining 07 vacancies will be filled from male and female candidates on the basis of merit.

10. The documents mentioned by the candidate while applying online will be taken by Surat Municipal Corporation after the practical/written examination or if requested by Surat Municipal Corporation at any stage, the candidate will have to produce all the documents on the basis of which the details have been filled at the time of verification in original and a certified copy thereof and the following evidences. Surat Municipal Corporation will have the power to cancel the name from the select list and waiting list if any discrepancy is found in the evidence submitted at the time of verification.
(1) Age Proof  Birth certificate, school leaving certificate or Secondary/Higher Secondary
(2) Certificate issued by the Education Board. (Any one) Mark sheet, certificate, degree certificate, attempt certificate, registration certificate for educational qualification
(3) A candidate belonging to the reserved caste shall submit a certificate issued by the competent authority of the Government of Gujarat regarding the caste of the candidate (SC, ST, SC, OBC, and SC-5) along with the application.
(4) If the candidate belongs to the SC, OBC, then he shall submit a certificate issued by the competent authority in the form of Annexure-4 (Gujarati) on or after 01/04/2024 stating that he is not included in the advanced category. Annexure-A (English) will not be considered valid.
(5) If the candidate is a Divyang, then a certificate issued by the competent authority regarding the same  Disability certificate will have to be submitted.
(6) In support of the experience stated in the application, the candidate will have to submit a self-certificate stating the period of experience (days, months, years), details of basic salary and total salary and details of the type of duties performed/experience gained. Such certificate will have to be submitted on the letterhead of the organization with the signature and date of the competent authority. The certificate submitted on the Self-Declaration and Affidavit given by the candidate will not be accepted.
(7) The experience as sought in the advertisement will be considered valid only after the candidate has obtained the educational qualification/degree. Experience before that will not be accepted under any circumstances. Offer letter or appointment letter will not be accepted as proof of experience.  But if along with it, proof of salary or promotion orders issued by the organization from time to time or other supporting evidence is submitted, after sufficient verification, the decision of the competent authority regarding considering such experience as valid shall be final.
(8) If the candidate is an employee of Surat Municipal Corporation or a government/semi-government organization and has studied further after joining the job and passed any examination, then he will have to submit a copy of the permission order. If permission has not been obtained, the qualification will not be considered valid.
(9) Trainees and permanent/regular employees of Surat Municipal Corporation will also have to apply online and after applying, their candidature application along with a hard copy of the last payslip should be sent to the Central Institution (Recruitment) Department within 07 days of the last date of application during office hours (excluding holidays) after obtaining the approval of the competent officer of their department/department/zone through proper channel, their account. If the application is not received within the stipulated period, the candidate's application will be considered as eligible for cancellation.
(10) Copy of EPIC card, PAN card and Aadhaar card.

11. Resolution No. SSP/122015/455246/0 of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department dated 26/04/2016 has been made that the validity of the Non-Creamy Layer certificate of Shri Bin U-Tvarga shall be considered valid for three financial years, irrespective of the financial year in which it is obtained. Accordingly, the Non-Creamy Layer certificate having an issue date before 01/04/2024 and issued after the last date of this advertisement shall not be considered valid for the purpose of this advertisement.  Candidates will have to submit a certificate in the format of Annexure (*)/ Annexure-4 (in Gujarati) regarding not being included in the advanced category. Annexure-A (English) will not be considered valid. The certificate number and issue date of the Non-Creamy Layer (Non Creamy Layer) will have to be compulsorily indicated while applying online.
12. If the candidate is not an Economically Weaker Section (EWS), then the certificate obtained in the Gujarati format in the prescribed format as per the provisions of the Resolution No. EWS/122019/45903/A of the Empowerment Department dated 25/01/2019, up to the last date of application, will be considered valid for this advertisement.  As per the resolution of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment dated 13/09/2019, the certificate is valid for three years from the date of issue, the certificate should be issued by the last date of application. Certificates issued after the last date of application will not be considered valid for this advertisement. The candidate must mandatorily indicate the certificate number and issue date while applying online.
13. In the cadre in which registration / license / certificate is mandatory, the candidate applying for that cadre should have a valid registration / license / certificate of the prescribed institution on the date of application. Such registration / license / certificate certificate must be produced by the candidate whenever demanded.
14.  Candidates working in government and semi-government organizations other than Surat Municipal Corporation must submit a no objection certificate issued by the competent authority of the concerned organization. If such candidates are appointed to the job of Surat Municipal Corporation, then the relieving order or certificate of that reason from the current employing organization must be submitted at the time of appearing on the account of Surat Municipal Corporation. After applying online, candidates working in government and semi-government organizations other than Surat Municipal Corporation must send a hard copy of the application through their account (through proper channel) to the Refutation Department, Surat Municipal Corporation within 07 days of the last date of application during office hours (excluding holidays). If the application is not received within the prescribed period, the candidate's application will be canceled.
15.  If the employees working as trainees in Surat Municipal Corporation apply for this post and are selected, it will be considered as a completely new appointment.
16. If the grade is mentioned in the mark sheet, degree certificate, then its equivalent percentage coverage from a recognized university will have to be submitted.
17. If a female candidate is married at the time of application, she can apply in the name of her husband by submitting a marriage registration certificate or a government gazette along with the application. A female candidate who is married but cannot submit a marriage certificate / government gazette and an unmarried female candidate will have to apply in the name of her father. A female candidate will be eligible for age relaxation as per the prevailing rules of the Government.
18. If it is found that any forged or tampered documents have been submitted, such application will be liable to be cancelled and if any appointment has been obtained on the basis of such evidence, the appointment will be cancelled with immediate effect at any time/stage.


Important Instructions
1. No request/request for correction/addition of the details of the application form confirmed by the applicant at the time of online application or any error or omission in the information provided by the candidate therein will be entertained later.
2. A candidate can apply only once for a cadre. In case of more than one application for a cadre, only the last online confirmed application will be valid. The committee will have the power to decide on the cancellation of the remaining applications and in addition, the fee paid will not be refundable.
3. For each post, the candidates will have to appear for the physical ability, practical, written, oral examinations as determined by the Appointment Authority, at the place indicated by the Appointment Authority at their own expense.
4.  Officers/employees serving in government/semi-government/companies can apply online in the context of the Surat Municipal Corporation advertisement and such candidates will have to submit the "No Objection Certificate" of the appointing officer of their department/department/office at the time of document verification.
5. Candidates serving in government/semi-government organizations other than Surat Municipal Corporation will have to submit a report on their performance and conduct for the last five years by the head of the department/department, details of any disciplinary action taken, if any, at the time of document verification. While the details of the employees of Surat Municipal Corporation will have to be obtained by the intermediary agency (Recruitment) department.
6. If the need arises to cancel or change this advertisement for any reason, the Appointment Authority of Surat Municipal Corporation will have full authority to do so.  The right/right shall remain and no reasons shall be given for this.
7. The right of the candidate to have the educational qualification provisionally considered will not be accepted.
8. If the candidate has a right to claim that he has the qualification mentioned in the advertisement, such a candidate will have to provide the details of orders / authorization establishing the same along with the application.
9. If the grade is mentioned in the mark sheet, degree certificate, the conversion of the same in percentage from a recognized university will have to be submitted.
10. If more than one candidate has obtained the same marks, the candidate who is older as per the date of birth will be given priority in the order of merit. However, if both the marks and date of birth of any candidate are same, then priority will be given as per the merit of the educational qualification.
11. If the candidate has previously been compulsorily retired, dismissed or dismissed from the Government Service / Government-owned company or board / corporation, the details of the same will have to be given in the application form.  If this matter comes to the notice after getting the appointment, the appointment of the candidate will be cancelled.
12. If a female candidate is married at the time of application, then she can apply with her husband's name by submitting a marriage registration certificate or Government Gazette along with the application. If a female candidate is married but cannot submit a marriage certificate, Government Gazette and unmarried female candidates will have to apply with the father's name. Female candidates will be eligible for relaxation in age limit as per the prevailing rules of the Government.
13. The details filled in the online application based on the original certificates of educational qualification, computer knowledge, age, gender and other matters with the candidate will be considered final for the entire recruitment process. The candidate will have to submit the certificates and evidence in support of the details mentioned in the online application in original (including certified photocopies) whenever called for at any stage.  The application form of the candidate who is unable to submit such evidence will be liable to be "cancelled" from that stage. Also, if the candidate is selected in such a situation, the selection of that candidate will be cancelled.
14. The necessary information for physical ability, practical, written, mobile examination will be communicated through a message on the mobile number and e-mail address provided in the Surat Municipal Corporation's website suratmunicipal.gov.in  After receiving the message of the admit card/call letter for the examination of that place, the applicant will have to download the print call letter from the Surat Municipal Corporation website as mentioned in the instructions. 
15. The applicant is specially advised to keep visiting the Surat Municipal Corporation website regularly. 
16. The final selection list and waiting list will be prepared as per the decisions decided by the Staff Selection Committee on the basis of the recruitment rules prescribed according to the cadre.
