Job Summary
Patanjali Research Foundation is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Principal Scientist – In-vitro Biology to lead the In-vitro Biology research team. The candidate will be responsible for leading laboratory-based cellular and molecular research, developing experimental strategies, and managing the in-vitro biology to support drug discovery and development programs.

The role requires strong expertise in cell culture systems, cellular assays, molecular techniques, and experimental design, along with proven leadership experience in managing research teams and projects.

Job Responsibilities 
• Lead and manage the In-vitro Biology research, including planning and execution of experimental programs. 
• Design and oversee advanced in-vitro experiments to study cellular responses, drug efficacy, and biological interactions. 
• Develop and optimise cell-based assays for toxicity screening, cellular uptake, and pharmacological studies. 
• Supervise and maintain mammalian cell culture systems, including primary cells and established cell lines. 
• Guide the research team in performing molecular biology techniques, cell viability assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, and imaging-based analysis. 
• Utilize advanced microscopy techniques such as confocal and fluorescence microscopy for cellular analysis. 
• Lead experimental planning, protocol development, and validation of laboratory techniques. 
• Analyse experimental data and ensure accurate research documentation and reporting. 
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pharmacology, toxicology, and drug discovery divisions. 
• Mentor and train junior scientists and research associates. 
• Contribute to scientific publications, patents, project proposals, and research reports. 
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and research regulations.

Educational experience and requirements :
• Ph.D. in Cell Biology / Molecular Biology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry or a related Life Science discipline from a reputed institute.
• 8–10+ years of research experience in in-vitro biology, cellular biology, or drug discovery research.
• Demonstrated experience in leading research teams or managing laboratory research programs.

Preferred Skills :
• Strong expertise in mammalian cell culture and advanced cell-based assays.
• Experience with cell viability, apoptosis, toxicity, and cellular signalling studies.
• Hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques and biochemical assays.
• Proficiency in microscopy techniques and imaging analysis.
• Experience in drug discovery research and experimental model development.
• Strong data analysis, scientific writing, and research documentation skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary research teams and manage multiple research projects.
