NIT Rourkela is one of the premier national level institutions for technical education in the country and is funded by the Government of India. Government of India has elevated the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela to a deemed university under the name of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. The main objective of the Institute is to produce quality Engineers and Scientists in Graduate and Post-Graduate levels in various branches of Engineering and Science.

Essential Qualifications and experience : M.Sc./M.Tech (or equivalent) in Life Science/ Microbiology/Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Biological Sciences/ Biochemistry/Zoology/ Animal Science / Botany/ Genetics/ Environmental Science OR any other related branch of biological science with minimum 60% of marks or 6.5 CGPA in 10 point scale with valid GATE score or NETcertificate of CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT/ICAR (LS/JRF).

Experience / Software / Skill set & Desirable Qualification : Prior experience in Microbiology/ Biofilm biology/ Bioremediation/ Bacterial cell biology/ Molecular biology/ molecular and biophysical techniques (PCR, RT-PCR, Western Blotting, Immunofluorescence, Electrophoresis, Gene cloning, Mutant development, spectroscopy etc.) will be preferred.

Consolidated monthly compensation / Fellowship : INR 37,000.00 /- per month (+) HRA @ NA % (if applicable)

Job Description : To carry out experiments related to the project bacterial on biofilm, analyze data, write research papers.

The period of experience in a discipline / area of work, wherever prescribed, shall be counted after the date of acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualifications for that position. Age Guideline : The upper age limit for applying for the award of project position shall be [28] years, which is relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Castes / Schedule Tribes / PWD and Female applicants whereas 3 years in the case of OBCs (Non-creamy layer candidates). Upper age limit shall be reckoned as on the last date of receipt of applications.
Any other terms & conditions governed as per guidelines issued by the funding agency for the engagement of above position as amended from time to time shall be in force towards this temporary recruitment.
