Internship Training / Dissertation Work at CSIR-NEIST

CSIR - North East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat, a constituent establishment of CSIR, is a multidisciplinary institute having research areas like Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Materials Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Geological Sciences, Advanced Computation and Data Sciences etc. The institute is equipped with sophisticated state-of-art analytical and other equipment to carry out research activities in frontier areas of science & technology. Presently wide-ranging research activities are being carried out in CSIR projects as well as externally funded projects.

Post : Internship Training / Dissertation Work at CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat

Eligibility
1. Students should be from reputed national colleges/ universities.
2. Students should have secured an average of at least 60% marks throughout his/her academic career (starting from final broad exam of class X)
3. One student will be allowed to undergo training at CSIR-NEIST only once in a particular course.

Application Procedure : Students should apply in online mode to email with subject as Internship/Dissertation work (rpbdhrneist@gmail.com)along with the following attachments :
1. Detailed Curriculum vitae (CV)
2. Self –certified Copies of the marks cards up to (10th/12th/Graduation)
3. Recommendation/ Introduction by the HOD/Principal of the college in their official letter head in the format- [A prescribe format will be designed by CSIR-NEIST and uploaded in the CSIR- NEIST website]
4. Fill in Application – [A prescribe format will be designed by CSIR-NEIST and uploaded in the CSIR-NEIST website]
5. Properly mention the course e.g. Internship/ Dissertation/ Project Work etc

Time of Application :
1st October to 15th October - For course session starting from Nov/Dec onwards
15th March to 31st March - For course session starting from April/May onwards
Requests/ Applications for the program sent beyond above stipulated period will not be considered.

Selection Criteria : The applications received will be forwarded to the respective divisions for shortlisting, which will be done purely on merit, based on the cumulative percentage from Class 10 to the highest degree. Each institute is allowed to submit a maximum of three applications for each subject per semester. Final semester students working on their major projects will be given preference for project work or internships. The list of selected candidates will be published on the CSIR-NEIST website during as per the above mentioned date, and no individual communication will be sent to selected candidates. Selected must confirm their acceptance by emailing rpbdhrneist@gmail.com within 15 days from the date of the selection announcement on the CSIR-NEIST website.

The decision of the CSIR-NEIST in regard to the selection of candidates shall be final. Canvassing in any form will be treated as a disqualification. A few seats will be kept reserved for the children of CSIR employee and under sole discretion of Director, CSIR-NEIST.

After Selection, the students should abide by the following terms:
1. The student will be required to produce his/her original Identity card, Recommendation letter, Academic records issued by the university/colleges at the time of reporting at the institute.
2. The institute will not be held responsible for any loss or injury of any kind to the student, caused during the proposed internship training /dissertation work.
3. There will be no financial or other obligations on the part of the institute.
4. The student will be required to submit the internship/dissertation report.
