The Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) is the state of art of R&D wing of the Tata Memorial Centre. It is located in the picturesque settings at the foothills of the Sahyadri mountains in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Junior Research Fellow - IP (Intellectual Property) Manager
Essential Educational Qualification & Experience : Mandatory
• Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree Professional Course AND selected through any one of the following : • CSIR-UGC NET (including Assistant Professorship) and GATE o Selected through national level examination conducted by Central Government or the agencies (ICMR, DBT, DAE, DST, IIT, IISER, NISER, IISc etc.) qualified.
Preferred Experience / Expertise : Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience /expertise as detailed below -
• Knowledge of Intellectual Property policies in biologics and basic sciences, along with a sound understanding of biotechnology and molecular biology techniques.
• Exposure to patent filing processes, patent landscaping, prior art searches using patent databases (e.g., WIPO, Google Patents), drafting and reviewing licensing documentation, and basic data analysis.
• Familiarity with licensing, MTAs, CDAs and collaboration agreements (at a scientific interface)
• Understanding of data exclusivity, regulatory exclusivity, and market protection strategies
• Drafting and reviewing invention disclosures, IP reports, and regulatory-IP alignment strategies
• Preparation of technical reports, regulatory summaries, and grant documentation, with proficiency in literature search (PubMed), reference management tools, and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Junior Research Fellow - Technology Transfer Manager

• Experience in Licensing, Technology Transfer & IP Management (Patent landscape analysis, Due diligence documentation)
• Experience in Drafting and Reviewing Legal/Collaborative Documents (MoU, MTA, NDA)
• Exposure to Regulatory Pathways & CGT Landscape in India (Cell & Gene Therapy / Biologics)
• Experience of Liaising between academic researchers and industry, evaluate novelty and market viability, Conduct prior art and basic market analysis
• Experience in Translational Projects or Industry Collaboration
Salary : Rs. 46,990/- (Rs. 37,000/+ 27% HRA)
Duration : 6 months with further extension depending on satisfactory performance.
