The Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi owes its existence to Bharat Ratna Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, the founder of the first residential University of modern India, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), who could foresee the vital role of technical education in strengthening independent India. Engineering education in BHU started in 1919 with the establishment of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO).
Post : Senior Research Fellow
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Senior Research Fellow to work on CCRAS- sponsored project under the supervision of Prof. Sairam Krishnamurthy, Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, India.
Title of the project : Evaluation of Coded drug Ayush Rasayana B for treatment of high-altitude sickness using multi-dimensional drug discovery approach. Duration: Two years. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Fellowship Amount : Rs. 42,000 + HRA (as applicable) per month
Essential qualifications : M.Pharm / M.S. (Pharm.)/M. Tech (Pharm)/M. Tech in Pharmacology/Biotechnology and related disciplines (minimum 55%/equivalent grade) with GATE/GPAT/CSIR-NET or equivalent qualifications. The candidates should have a basic degree in pharmacy (B. Pharm). The candidate should have two years of work experience in relevant fields. Candidates need to produce the essential documents justifying qualification in the case of selection.
Desirable qualifications : Candidates with experience in bio-informatics/ in silico drug discovery techniques/animal handling/ pharmacological models/ molecular biology techniques would be preferred.
Age limit : 32 Years (relaxable as per GOI norms for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates). All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules.
