Essential and Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Essential : Ph.D., in Pharmaceutical Sciences / Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Organic Chemistry/ Medicinal Chemistry / Natural product Chemistry or Equivalent with First class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree (M.Pharm/MS/M.Sc.) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Organic chemistry, Natural Product chemistry with a very good academic record throughout and at least 10 years of Teaching/Research/ Industrial experience with published works of high quality, well recognized and established reputation of having made conspicuous seminal contribution to knowledge in the above areas.
Desirable : Expertise in sustainable Organic Synthesis including Green Chemistry for bio-active heterocycles and drugs or drug intermediates, drug discovery in context to Medicinal Chemistry / Organic Synthesis / Natural Product Inspired Drug Synthesis etc., Isolation and Characterization of Bio-active Molecules from the herbal products. Preference will be given to the candidate having minimum of 3 years’ experience at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent and who completes at least one EMR or Industry sponsored project with administrative experience like establishment of Department, etc.
Candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent Research in terms of guidance of Masters’ students and minimum of 2 Ph.D students, execution and/or recipients of sponsored/EMR projects, technology transfers and with publication in SCI journals.
Deputation : Faculty members / Scientists from Central/State Universities or Government Institutions of Higher Education / Research Institutes holding analogous post on regular service at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent and possessing the educational qualifications prescribed as specified above in Essential requirement, may be considered on deputation if found suitable.

Desirable : Expertise in Method Development and Validation, Impurity Profiling, Metabolic Studies, Metabolomics, Proteomics Studies and pharmacokinetic [DMPK] studies. Candidate should also have expertise in handling equipments like HPLC, LCMS-MS, GCMS, ICPMS, etc., Preference will be given to the candidate having minimum of 3 years’ experience at the level of Assistant Professor/ Ramalingaswami /Ramanujan Fellows and who completes at least one EMR or Industry sponsored project with administrative experience like establishment of Department, etc. Candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent Research in terms of guidance of Master students and at least one Ph.D., student and having good publications in SCI journals.

General Instructions
1. Candidates of only Indian Nationality can apply for these posts.
2. Candidates should read carefully the requisite minimum essential qualifications, age and eligibility, experience criteria, etc., laid down in the Advertisement before applying for the relevant post. Since all the applications will be screened on the basis of data submitted by the candidate in the “Online Application” form, the candidates must satisfy themselves of the suitability for the position to which they are applying. If at any stage during the recruitment and selection process, it is found that candidates have furnished false or wrong information, their candidature will be rejected.
3. Application once submitted cannot be altered under any circumstances. However, if the candidate wishes to reapply by paying necessary fee again he/she may do so. Further, no request with respect to making changes in any data/particulars entered by the candidate in the Online Application will be entertained, once the application is submitted successfully. Therefore, please keep all data/details ready before you start filling up the Application Online.
4. Candidates may apply on prescribed application form online from the NIPER-G Website. They can apply for more than one post provided, they fulfill the eligibility criteria. In such a case, the candidate has to apply for each post separately and Pay Application Fee separately. However, based on the number of candidates applying for different posts, the Institute reserves the right to hold a written / skill test and or Interview for the various posts together or separately on a single or multiple day across various sessions as per the decision of the Director.
5. Incomplete online application or Hard copy of application and those without relevant supporting documents (self-attested copies of Date of birth/Degrees/Certificates/Mark sheets/Experience Certificates/Documents, etc.) will be rejected. Hard copies of the applications submitted without applying online will not be accepted.
6. Mere fulfilment of minimum qualifications and experience does not entitle any candidate to receive call letter.
7. The applicants serving in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSUs/Autonomous organization must send their application along with the relevant documents “Through Proper Channel”. Such candidates are required to send advance copies of their applications but their candidature shall only be considered only if their applications are received through proper channel within 10 days (6th April, 2020) after closing date of receipt of online applications.
8. No TA and accommodation shall be provided for attending the written test/interview.
9. The maximum age limit and eligibility conditions shall be reckoned for all the posts (Teaching and Non-Teaching) as on the last date of online applications  and the experience for Teaching post will be considered from the date of completion of Master Degree to the last date of online application,  by excluding the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. (copies of documents for date of registration and date of completion of Ph.D. must be enclosed).
10. An Application Fee of Rs.1000/-(Rupees one thousand only) for both Teaching and Group-A officers (from Pay level 10 and above), Rs 500/- for other non-teaching posts has to be paid through the link provided inside the portal. The fee once paid will not be refunded or re-adjusted under any circumstances. No fee is required for SC/ST, PwD category of candidate. Candidate after submission of Application and payment of fee, a PDF will be generated with the completed form and fees receipt. Applicants are required to print hardcopy of application form and fee receipt, sign and send the same along with all self-attested relevant supporting documents within the prescribed date mentioned below.
11. For the posts Code: T-12 mode of recruitment is by Direct Recruitment or by on Deputation/ or on contractual (in case suitable candidates are not found for Direct recruitment/Deputation), whereas T-13 to T-18 and NT-09 to NT-18 the mode of recruitment is by Direct Recruitment on regular basis where as for the post NT-01 the mode of recruitment is by Direct Recruitment or on Deputation / contract basis and the position is for 5-year tenure. NT-19 position is on purely contractual and renewable for 2 years up on the performance.
12. Mode of Selection: a. The selection process for Teaching staff consists of Presentation to the selection committee followed by an Interview. b. For Non-Teaching staff, if number of applications received is large, the Institute reserves the right to hold a written test and shortlist the candidates for the Interview and selection process is based on the performance in the Interview before the duly constituted Committee, Candidates are advised to visit the Website niperguwahati.ac.in regularly. No separate call letter will be sent but only e-mail communication will be sent.

13. A Candidate’s admission to the Written Test/Interview and subsequent process is strictly provisional. The mere fact that the call letter(s)/has been issued to the candidate does not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the NIPER-G. The NIPER-G would be free to reject any application, at any stage of the process, cancel the candidature of the candidate in case it is detected at any stage that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and/or that he/she has furnished any incorrect/false information/Certificate/documents or has suppressed any material fact(s). If any of these shortcomings is/are detected after appointment in the NIPER-G, their services are liable to be summarily terminated.
14. The institute reserves the right to:
(a) Withdraw the advertisement either partly or wholly at any time without assigning any reason to this effect
(b) Fill or not to fill up some or all the posts advertised for any reasons whatsoever
(c) Increase/Decrease the number of posts without giving any reason.
(d) Any addition/deletion and changes in matter of terms and conditions given in this notification of recruitment
(e) Hold written test, Skill/Trade test, Presentation and/or Interview for selection, whenever circumstances so warrant.
(f) Converting Professor to Associate Professor, Associate Professor to Assistant Professor, in case suitable candidates are not found for the advertised position.
(g) To frame the criteria rules by the committee while short listing.
15. Intimations will be sent only by E-mail as per the details mentioned in the Application form.
16. In case of any corrigendum/addendum pertaining to this Advertisement, the same shall be published in the Institute’s Website only. Accordingly, all applicants in their own interests are advised to regularly visit the Institute’s Website.
17. Guidelines relating to recruitment rules shall be followed as per NIPER Act, 1998 as amended from time to time.
18. After joining the service of the Institute, the persons will have to abide by the Rules, Regulations, Ordinances, Statutes and Act of the Institute applicable from time to time. He / She may be assigned any duty within or outside the Institute depending upon the exigency of the work.
19. Candidates’ who have obtained degrees/diplomas/certificates for various courses from any Institution declared fake / derecognized by the UGC/AICTE/PCI shall not be eligible for being considered for recruitment to the post advertised.
20. In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation of clauses in any version of this Advertisement other than English, the English version available on the NIPER-G Website shall prevail.
21. Any dispute arising out of this Advertisement including the recruitment process shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts situated at Guwahati only.

with reference to the employment notification NIPER-G/Mar./2020-21, Dt. 05-03-2020 the last date of online application as well as receiving hardcopy of the filled applications are extended up to 16th April 2020 and 20th April 2020 respectively due to coronavirus outbreak.

However, the calculation of the period of experience and the age shall be considered as per the last date of the original notification i.e 27th March 2020. The other terms & conditions will remain same as per the original notification dated on 5th March 2020.
