The National Institute of Technology, Durgapur (formerly Regional Engineering College, Durgapur), was established by an Act of Parliament in 1960 as one of the eight such colleges aimed to function as a pace setter for engineering education in the country and to foster national integration.It is a fully-funded premier Technological Institution of the Government of India and is administered by an autonomous Board of Governors. The Institute is a University which awards B.Tech., M.C.A., M.Sc., M.B.A.,M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees to students after their successful completion of the specified courses.

The duration of the position is initially for one year and may be extended.

Qualification/experience
PhD degree with 3-5 years of Postdoctoral experience in any branch of Life Sciences is required. The candidate must have experience in Plant Molecular Biology and Genetics. The candidate should have publications in good quality international journals. Research experience in Arabidopsis thaliana is desirable however not essential.

Salary : Rs. 55,000/- consolidated salary per month.

1. The above position is purely contractual, and for a period of one year and may be extendable. Selected candidate will not be entitled to claim for regular appointment/absorption in this institute.
2. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
