The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai was established as the Department of Chemical Technology on 1st October, 1933 by the University of Mumbai, through active support of industries and philanthropists. The Institute was most popularly known as UDCT, Mumbai. Research has been an integral part of ICT since its inception and it has created over 500 first generation entrepreneurs. The UDCT grew significantly in stature and was granted autonomy under UGC regulations by the University of Mumbai and further converted in to an Institute on 26th January, 2002. Under the World Bank TEQIP programme, the Maharashtra government granted it full autonomy in June 2004. Due to the recommendations of the Government of Maharashtra and University of Mumbai, the ICT was granted Deemed University Status by the MHRD on 12th September, 2008, with all provisions of the UGC for funding and support as the state owned deemed university.

Post : Research Associate

Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate on a project entitled "Development of Novel Approaches To Multifunctional C-Nudeosides Using Palladium-Catalysed Coupling Processes in Aqueous Media"

Sponsor : CSIR, New Delhi

Salary :  Rs. 36,000 /- pm (inclusive of HRA)

Qualifications : Ph.D. in Science (Chemistry) - Organic Chemistry (Degree certificate should be obtained prior to submission of application)

Duration : One year (Extendable for two more years)

Selection procedure
Selection will be based on an interview conducted by a committee. The recommendation of the committee will be final.

The project aims to undertake the synthesis of C-Nucleosides and their palladium- catalysed modification under aqueous conditions. C-Nucleosides have in recent years found a lot of interest as potential pharmaceutical candidates and therefore the development of efficient processes for accessing such molecules is very important.

Interested candidates are requested to be present for the interview on the scheduled date and time (2nd April 2018 at 14.00 p.m.) and are also required to submit their application (Curriculum Vitae as well as a copy of Ph.D. Degree certificate) through an email to AR (acad.) on research.assistant@staff.ictmumbai.edu.in by Sunday, 25th March 2018.
