NIAB is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and take up research in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute's focus of research will be on Animal Genetics and Genomics, Transgenic Technology, Reproductive Biotechnology, Infectious Diseases, Bioinformatics and Nutrition Enrichment. The institute aims at translational research leading to the development of novel vaccines, diagnostics and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals. The Institute plans to promote bio entrepreneurship by providing support environment for commercial tenants involved in the development of farm animal based products.
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up a position at National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad.
(i) One position of Project Fellow against DST funded project entitled “Characterization of transglycosylases enzyme associated with cell wall biogenesis in vancomycin resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains”,
PI: Dr Vasundhra Bhandari, DST-Inspire Faculty. (Duration - 1 year initially and is extendable subject to annual review and is co-terminus with the duration of the project).
Essential qualification: M.Sc Life Sciences (including Veterinary Science/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology, etc.). However Non - NET candidates can also apply who will be paid as per their eligibility.
Desirable qualification: Candidates with experience in infectious diseases, gene editing, genomics, proteomics, microbiology and molecular biology will be preferred.
Fellowship amount: Rs.12000/-PM+30% HRA = 15,600/- PM as per the DST guidelines.
Age: 30 years (Relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC and women candidates as per Government instructions)
