Mizoram University is a Central University being set up on modern standards with excellent academic infrastructure and research facilities including a Central Analytical and Preparatory Facility consisting of sophisticated equipments. Mizoram is one of the most peaceful states in the country despite being located in the NER. Aizawl is connected by Air from Kolkata and Guwahati (daily flights). Nearest railhead is at Silchar (180 km). The climate is mild both in summer and winter.

Desirable Specialization: Herbal Chemistry / Pharmacy with working experience in Medicinal Plants / Vegetable Science / Floriculture / Spices and plantation crops

Qualification:
(i) Good academic record with at least 55 % marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
(iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) above, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
(iv) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmers in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Complete application as per the prescribed format appearing at Annexure – II along with application fee of Rs. 500.00 (H 250.00 for SC/ST) in the form of Bank Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Mizoram University on State Bank of India, Aizawl Main Branch may be submitted to the Deputy Registrar, Administration-I, Mizoram University, Post Box No.190, Aizawl, Mizoram - 796 004.

The prescribed fee may also be paid directly to the Finance Department, Mizoram University, Aizawl, during office hours.

Persons with Disabilities are fully exempted from payment of the prescribed fees upon submission of relevant Disability Certificate issued by the competent authority. Women applicants are also fully exempted from payment of the prescribed fees.

The Application form along with the required Datasheet/Academic Performance Indicators (API) score sheet/Scoring Scheme for filling up API Score sheet may be downloaded from MZU website, mzu.edu.in in A-4 size paper. The same may also be obtained from Administration-I, Mizoram University by paying Rs. 50.00.

i) Applicants, in their own interest, are advised to go through the terms and conditions of the advertisement. The completeness of the submitted applications is the sole responsibility of the applicant.
ii) The University reserves the right not to fill any of the post(s). There may be an increase or decrease in the number of posts advertised.
iii) The University reserves the right to consider the application of Professor and Associate Professor for the lower level of teaching positions and not the post applied by the applicant.
iv) Applications should be supported by relevant documents ( self certified) in all respects including for Datasheet and API Score sheet. Applications not supported by documents will be summarily rejected.
v) Applications for the posts reserved for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes should be supported by the Caste/Tribe certificate in a GOI prescribed format duly issued by the competent authority. Applications for posts reserved for Persons with Disabilities should be supported by appropriate Medical Certificate duly issued by the authorized Medical Board. Applicants for the reserved post of OBC are required to submit a certificate regarding his/her ‘OBC status and non-creamy layer status’ in a prescribed format duly issued on or after 10.04.2014 by the competent authority. Relaxations and concessions will apply as per GOI Reservation rules.
vi) Last date of receipt of complete application is 10.04.2014.
vii) No TA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the interview. However, SC/ST/ PWD candidates will be paid second class railway/bus fare by shortest route, provided that the fare of the first 30 km both ways is borne by the candidates.
viii) Certificate in support of experience shall be in proper format i.e. it shall bear the organisation’s letter-head, bear the date of issue, specific period of work, name and designation of issuing authority along with signature and official seal.
ix) The University will not be responsible for postal delay in any correspondences with the applicants/candidates. x) Application after the last date, incomplete in any respect and any fresh paper /enclosures after the closing date, shall not be considered.
xi) No correspondence nor telephonic/electronic query will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview. Canvassing directly or indirectly at any stages of the recruitment processes will lead to disqualification.
xii) Any change in the correspondence address, mobile / telephone no. and email address shall be communicated to the University, in writing.
xiii) The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate, at any time, at the time of appointment or during the tenure of service. In case of fake documents, clandestine antecedents or suppression of information, services in the University shall be terminated.
xiv) In case of any inadvertent mistake in the advertisement and in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stage, even after issue of appointment, the University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate(s).
xv) Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the minimum essential qualifications and API scores, furnished with clarity, as laid down in the advertisement/University website.
xvi) The crucial date for reckoning possession of educational / other qualifications, possession of required experience, etc. is the last date of submission of application.
xvii) Applicants possessing higher qualifications against post(s) applied for, will be given preference in addition to extant eligibility criteria, in consonance to the MHRD, GoI directive, vide D.No. 6-15/2007-Desk (U) dt. 30.07.2009. xviii) Applications shall be sent/submitted by superscribing the post applied for along with the Post Code on the envelope.
xix) Separate application is required for different posts and different reserved categories (i.e, for post bearing different codes)
xx) In institutions where grading system is followed, applicants are required to convert the grade obtained by them into its equivalent percentage giving the standard conversion formula.
xxi) Government of India is striving for gender balance in Government jobs. Women candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply.
xxii) Applicants already in Government Services/any other organizations will not be entertained in their official capacity during the recruitment processes.
xxiii) NET/SLET/SET is the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor. Only those Ph.D. degree holders are exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for appointment as Assistant Professor whose Ph.D. Degree has been awarded in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for awarding Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009.In addition NET/SLET/SET is not required for such Masters Degree Programme in disciplines for which NET/SLET /SET accredited test is not conducted.

Applicants with Ph.D seeking exemption from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET are required to submit a Certificate from the concerned University that the Ph.D Degree is in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for awarding Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009.

xxiv) With the implementation of the UGC Regulations of minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers and other academic staff in Universities and Colleges and measures for the maintenance of standards in Higher Education, 2010, aspirants for the jobs advertised are required to submit their applications with completed Mizoram University Datasheet /PBAS
