Post : Project Scientist III

Project title : National Disease Modelling Consortium Phase II: Developing Models to Estimate and Project Disease Burden to Inform Control and/or Elimination Strategies for Priority Diseases in India.

About the project : IIT Bombay is the lead institution of the National Disease Modelling Consortium (NDMC). The consortium partners with various institutions across the country for disease modelling research. The consortium aims to develop India-specific disease models to address policy and programmatic questions, to improve disease control and intervention strategies in the country..

Essential Qualifications & Experience : 
PhD in Engineering
Or
MTech/ ME or equivalent degree with minimum 3 years relevant experience
OR
BTech/BE or equivalent engineering degree with minimum 5 years of experience
OR
PhD in Sciences / Economics / Biostatistics / Demography / Public Health / Pharmaceutical Science with minimum 2 years relevant experience
OR
MSc with 5 years experience
Desirable Skills : Utilize MS Office and Google Docs for project management tasks, including document creation, collaboration, and data management. Basic understanding of sequencing data analysis and workflows.

Job Profile : The selected candidate will contribute to one or more the following areas: 
• Interface with the Secretariat head, PI, Co-PI, and stakeholders to ensure effective project communication and coordination. 
• Support the organization and management of project activities, including workshops, events, and meetings. 
• Coordinate stakeholder meetings, scientific discussions, and program reviews. 
• Assist in project report writing and the collation of information, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and completeness of project documentation. • Contribute to the technical components of the project; candidates with a background in public health, disease modelling, data analytics, or life sciences will be preferred. 
• Lead design, editing, and compilation of NDMC newsletters and scientific communication outputs 
• Participate in outreach activities to promote project objectives and stakeholder engagement 
• Contribute to building capacity and coordinating with various stakeholders for integration of high-throughput sequencing data into environmental and disease surveillance and public health frameworks.

Consolidated salary : Consolidated Salary Rs. 78000 + HRA (as admissible).
