Under the Public Health Department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, and within the jurisdiction of the Chief Medical Superintendent & Head of Department (Secondary Health Services), various posts across different categories at Rajawadi Hospital are to be filled on a temporary, contractual basis until 31.03.2027 (subject to a mandatory break every 45 days) at a consolidated monthly remuneration.

Age Limit : Candidates must have completed a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed 38 years of age. (The maximum age limit is 43 years for candidates belonging to backward classes.)
Qualifications
• Candidates must possess a Diploma in Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education or a Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university. Preference will be given to candidates holding a degree.
• Candidates must be registered with the Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council.
• Candidates must hold a certificate in CCC, 'O' Level, 'A' Level, 'B' Level, or 'C' Level from the DOEACC Society, or an MS-CIT or GECT certificate from the Maharashtra State Board of Higher and Technical Education; alternatively, they must have completed a computer operation/usage course recognized by the government for exemption from submitting the aforementioned certificates.
• Candidates must have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination—or an equivalent or higher examination—with Marathi as a subject (carrying a 50-mark paper).
Selection Procedure - Selection Criteria
• In accordance with the recruitment rules for the post, candidates who passed the final degree/diploma examination in more than three attempts will not be considered.
• A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the final year by eligible candidates who fulfill the qualifications, terms, and conditions prescribed in the recruitment rules for the post.
• In the event that two or more candidates secure equal marks in the final year, the following criteria will be considered in the specified order of priority:
• Higher educational qualification possessed as of the last date for submission of applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Candidates appointed on a temporary contractual basis must discharge the duties and responsibilities associated with their respective posts.
• Candidates shall perform their duties under the supervision and guidance of the Head of the Hospital, or the Senior Medical Officer/Medical Officer/Nursing Superintendent/Head of the concerned Department designated by them.
• Candidates will be required to perform duties across all three shifts on a rotational basis, as per requirements.
• Candidates will be entitled to weekly offs and compensatory leave in accordance with the duty roster prepared by the hospital administration and approved by the Head of the Hospital.
• In accordance with Circular No. Director/Vaishiparu/3644 dated 14.10.2023, candidates will be granted a total of 7½ days of casual leave (pro-rata) for a period of six months, subject to the prior approval of the concerned Head of Department.
• Candidates shall be required to work in other hospital departments, the Outpatient Department (OPD), the Inpatient Department (IPD), and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)—as necessitated by exceptional or emergency situations—in accordance with the orders of the Senior Medical Officer or Medical Officer designated by the hospital administration or the Head of the Hospital.
In accordance with the orders of the authorities, and as necessitated by exceptional or emergency situations, the appointee shall be required to work in various hospital sections—including the Outpatient Department (OPD), Inpatient Department (IPD), and Intensive Care Unit (ICU)—as required.
• While performing duties at the hospital, contractual staff must adhere to the guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the respective departments. They must also assume responsibility for any medico-legal matters associated with the patient care provided.
• Candidates are expected to conduct themselves courteously when interacting with patients and their relatives, senior citizens, senior municipal officials and staff, local public representatives, and social activists. They must ensure that their actions do not tarnish the image of the Municipal Corporation or the hospital administration.
• If, during the contract period, a candidate violates Municipal Corporation rules, engages in objectionable behavior, demonstrates inefficiency in departmental operations, or is found negligent in patient care, their contractual appointment shall be terminated immediately without prior notice.
General Terms and Conditions
(1) Contractual candidates will be appointed based on the availability of vacant posts within the hospital establishment and actual requirements. However, contractual candidates shall not claim any right to permanent employment with the Municipal Corporation.
(2) The number of posts mentioned in the advertisement is subject to reduction based on requirements.
(3) Applications must be handwritten and complete in all respects. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
(4) A recent passport-sized photograph of the candidate, bearing their signature, must be affixed in the designated space on the application form. Candidates should also carry two additional copies of the same photograph for the subsequent selection process.
(5) Candidates must ensure that they fulfill all the qualifications and conditions prescribed for the applied posts. If, at any stage, it is found that a candidate does not meet the prescribed qualifications and conditions, their candidature will be cancelled. In the event of an appointment having already been made, the contractual appointment will be terminated without prior notice.
(6) The address for correspondence must be clear and complete.
(7) Candidates must provide details regarding any pending police inquiries or court cases against them, or any past convictions.
(8) Candidates must appear for document verification with the original copies and self-attested photocopies of certificates regarding educational qualifications, professional qualifications, relevant mark sheets, experience certificates, and appointment letters.
(9) Depending on the number of applications received, candidates will be informed of the date, time, and venue for the verification of original documents via mobile phone or e-mail.
(10) Candidates must appear for the submission of applications and document verification at their own expense.
(11) Selected candidates must submit an affidavit on a stamp paper worth Rs. 500/- before being appointed to the respective post on a contractual basis.
(12) Accommodation will not be provided to candidates appointed on a contractual basis.
(13) Contractual candidates will be posted or transferred to any of the 16 suburban hospitals based on requirements.
(14) The appointment of candidates will be strictly on a contractual basis for a period of one month at a time, with a mandatory one-day break in service after every 45 days. If a candidate is recruited through the regular recruitment process, the appointment of the said contractual candidate will be terminated with immediate effect.
(15) Since this appointment is contractual in nature, candidates cannot claim any right or priority for permanent appointment to the respective post within the Municipal Corporation's regular service.
Special Instructions
1. Applications previously submitted to or received by the concerned office or any other location—including those sent via post—will not be considered.
2. Please note that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has not authorized any individual or external organization to accept applications or handle the application process.
3. Candidates found attempting to exert pressure, resorting to unfair means, or engaging impostors at any stage of the contractual recruitment process will be disqualified from selection.
4. Candidates are advised to beware of middlemen, fraudsters, or individuals claiming to have connections within the Mumbai Municipal Corporation who promise employment through illicit means.
5. The Hon. Commissioner, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, reserves the right to halt the recruitment process at any time or stage for administrative or other reasons.
To prepare a selection list, applications will be issued to interested candidates who meet the specified qualifications and conditions, upon payment of an application fee of Rs. 838/- (Rs. 710/- + 18% GST of Rs. 128/-). The sale and acceptance of these applications will take place from 08.06.2026 to 18.06.2026 (during office hours) up to 4:00 PM at the office of the Administrative Officer (Establishment), Rajawadi Hospital, Ghatkopar.
