National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Hajipur is an autonomous Institute of National Importance set up by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India by an act of parliament, to impart high quality Education & Research in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Applications are invited for two posts of JRF (Junior Research Fellow) from the Indian citizens under the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) sponsored purely time-bound project undertaken in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, NIPER Hajipur.
Project – 1 : CCRUM- Vascular Dementia
Project title : Mechanistic exploration of Unani formulation (oral tablet of Majoon Najah) on cognitive deficits through cAMP/PKA/CREB mediated synaptic remodeling in rat model of vascular dementia.

Project title : Therapeutic potential of selected Unani formulations in obesity and Metabolic Dysfunction – Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH): In silico, In vitro and In vivo evaluation

Project duration : 2 years
Essential qualifications : Candidates with M.S./M.Pharm in Pharmacology/Pharmacology and Toxicology, M.Sc. in Medical Pharmacology/M.Sc. Biotechnology, PG in AYUSH courses or similar disciplines with qualification of NET/GATE/GPAT/relevant national level competitive exam and research experience in the related project area are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to the candidate with NIPER JEE 2026 appeared candidate
Desirable qualification for project-1 : The candidate should have a strong background in performing in vivo BACCO model of vascular dementia. We are looking for a highly motivated and competent JRF to work in research with a focus, who also decides to work in research and take on administrative tasks. The research tasks desirable the implementation of tablet formulation and LC-HRMS studies as well as the implementation of animal experiments. For collection of blood/tissue, Western blot, Immunohistochemistry, proteomics and transcriptomics. To perform standard molecular biology experiments and train lab colleagues in the techniques.
Desirable qualification for project-2 : The candidate should have a strong background in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology. We are looking for a highly motivated and competent researcher who focuses on research, trains labmates, and takes on administrative tasks. The research tasks include, but are not limited to, in silico, in vitro, and animal studies for blood/tissue collection; biochemical assays; western blotting; RT-PCR; histopathology; immunohisto/cyto-chemistry/fluorescence; flow cytometry; proteomics; and transcriptomics.
Age limit : Not more than 30 years as on the date of advertisement.
Salary : Rs. 37,000 plus HRA per month, which may change as per CCRUM rule.
Relaxation on qualification and age : SC/ST/OBC/Women/PWD candidates will get relaxation as per Govt. of India Rules.
Terms and conditions
1. The above position is purely contractual for a period of 1 year extendable up to two years based on performance or up to completion of project.
2. Selected candidate will not be entitled to claim for regular appointment/absorption in the institute.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
4. Candidates reaching after specified time may not be entertained.
PhD may be provided based on the fulfilling the criteria of NIPER Hajipur.
