The National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, is a constituent Laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research(CSIR). Initially established in 1975 as a CSIR Complex, it was named as the Regional Research Laboratory in 1978 and later renamed as NIIST in 2007. Its mandate is to conduct research and development activities of the highest quality in areas related to effective utilization of resources of the region and of fundamental importance to the country. Currently, NIIST is engaged in R & D programmes in areas related to Agro-processing and technology, Chemical Sciences and technology, Materials Science and Technology, Microbial processes & technology, Environmental Technology.
This Institute invites eligible candidates for a Walk-in-interview for filling up the following purely temporary positions as detailed below
Project Associate-I (PAT-I) Two*
Subject Area : ETD-4 Environment Biotechnology
Qualification : M.Sc in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Zoology / Environment Technology from recognized University or Equivalent. OR B.Tech / B.E in Chemical / Civil / Biotechnology / Biochemical Engineering / from recognized University or Equivalent.
Monthly Stipend : Rs.31,000/- + 20% HRA for those who have qualified CSIR- UGC / ICAR /ICMR NET incl. lectureship / assistant professorship OR GATE qualified. OR those who have qualified National Level Examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and / or their agencies/ Institutions.
Rs.25,000/- + 20% HRA for others who do not fulfill the above.
Age Limit (Max. as on the date of Walk-in- interview) : 35 Years

Mode of Selection
Interested eligible candidates should report at CSIR-NIIST, Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram at 09.00 AM, on the dates mentioned against each post code. Candidates reaching after 09.30 AM will not be entertained. Only those candidates whose final results have been declared as on the date of walk in interview will be eligible.

The prescribed application form provided below may be downloaded and all requisite information may be filled in. The filled in signed application along with photo pasted has to be submitted at the time of Walk-in-Interview. The application form should be accompanied by SELF ATTESTED COPIES OF CERTIFICATES & MARKLISTS (MATRICULATION ONWARDS) of testimonial / certificate in support of age, educational qualification, experience and caste mentioned in the application.

THE APPLICANT MUST ALSO BRING ALL THE ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES / TESTIMONIALS AT THE TIME OF WALK-IN-INTERVIEW FOR VERIFICATION. Written test will be conducted, if necessary.
Interim enquiries will not be attended to.
