The Melero-Martin laboratory seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to contribute to a cardiovascular tissue engineering program focused on building vascular and heart tissue constructs. The successful candidate will focus on engineering vascular networks within cardiac tissue constructs, including the generation and assembly of iPSC-derived vascular cells, development of perfusable microvascular networks, and integration of vasculature into engineered heart tissues. This position is part of a large multi-institutional effort involving collaboration with leading bioengineering and cardiac surgery groups.
Current projects at the Melero-Martin lab span vascular biology, iPSC-derived endothelial cells, therapeutic vascularization, and regenerative medicine. All work will involve human iPSC culture, endothelial cell biology, biomaterials, and in vivo models.
