Join NIPGR - Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics candidates apply

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of two Research Associate-I, one each in the DBT Multi-institutional project entitled “Biotechnological interventions for revitalizing sustainable large cardamom (Amomum subulatum Roxb.) cultivation”, and BMGF-Gates Foundation-funded project entitled “Development of Climate resilient chickpea and brassica by gene editing”, under the supervision of Dr. Debasis Chattopadhya, Director, BRIC-NIPGR. The details of positions are as under :

Post : Research Associate-I (two posts)

Emoluments : ₹.58,000/- per month plus 27% HRA, as sanctioned in the project. 

Qualification : Candidates having Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Bioinformatics or a related field and candidates with an M.Tech in Biotechnology / Bioinformatics, with three years of research experience and a relevant research publication, and fulfilling the guidelines of DST-OM No: DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated June 26, 2023 are eligible to apply. Candidates with research experience in the area of computational biology, genome assembly and annotation, GWAS analysis, duly supported with relevant publications in SCI journals (at least one first- author research papers with more than three impact factors) will be preferred. Knowledge in Python and R and Linux operating system is desirable.

The above positions are completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above position is as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project. The initial appointment for the above post will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier, and tenure of the post can be curtailed/extended based on the assessment of the candidate's performance and the discretion of the Competent Authority. BRIC-NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one- month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of BRIC-NIPGR.

A single PDF file containing the application form, including the cover letter, and all documents must be uploaded within 15 days of the date of advertisement. Incomplete applications and a lack of supporting educational certificates will be rejected. NIPGR reserves the right to upgrade the eligibility criteria for shortlisting, depending on the number of applications received. A web link with the date and time of the online interview will be emailed to the shortlisted candidates. The candidates must verify their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be shortlisted for an interview.
