Established in 1965, the CSIR - Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR-IITR) is a prestigious constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). The institute is actively engaged in Research & Development (R&D) in core areas of toxicology and National Science & Technology (S&T) Missions, including: Environmental Toxicology, Predictive Toxicology, Health Risk Assessment, Preventive Toxicology, Inhalation Toxicology, Analytical Toxicology, etc. 

Eligible and interested candidates are invited to appear for the written examination and personal interview for purely temporary engagement as 'Project Staff' under various CSIR or externally funded projects tenable at CSIR- IITR, Lucknow.

PAT-I
No of posts : 10
Upper Age Limit : 35 years Relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ST, physically handicapped and female candidates and 3 years in case of OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : Rs.25,000/-+ HRA (20% of fellowship) Per Month OR Rs.31,000/- + HRA (20% of fellowship) Per Month for Candidates who have qualified CSIR / UGC / ICMR / ICAR NET or GATE or National level examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions with scores that are valid at the time of interview.

PAT-II

Age Limit and Relaxation 
1. Minimum Age: The minimum age for applying is 18 years as on the last date of submission of online application. 
2. Upper Age Limit : 
a. For Project Associate (PAT-I), Project Associate (PAT-II) & Project Scientist-I (PS-I) the Upper Age Limit is 35 years and 
b. For Project Scientist-II (PS-II) & Senior Project Associate (Senior-PAT), the Upper Age Limit is 40 years. 
3. Age Relaxation : 
a. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), PwBD and Female candidates will receive a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit. 
b. Candidates belonging to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) will receive a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit 

GENERAL CONDITIONS / INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES
1. The applicant must be a citizen of India.
2. The number of positions is provisional and may vary. The advertisement does not necessarily tantamount to the selection being actually made. The CSIR-IITR, Lucknow reserves the right to cancel all or part of the advertised positions at any stage of the recruitment process. 
3. The above positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the aforementioned projects. 
4. The engagement in these projects will not confer any right implicit or explicit on the candidate for consideration for regularization against any CSIR/IITR position. 
5. For a position in a project, required experience shall be counted only after the candidate has acquired the minimum prescribed qualification. 
6. The prescribed educational qualifications should have been obtained from a University / Institution / Board recognized by Govt. of India / approved by the Govt. Regulatory Bodies and the final result should have been declared on or before the last date of receipt of the online application.
7. All testimonials/certificates will be verified later. Therefore, the candidates must produce the original document(s) for verification as and when desired by this Institute. Any wrong or incomplete information furnished by the candidate shall render her / him ineligible for consideration without any further notice. 8. In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA grades, etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentages based on the formula as per their University/Institute.

10. The period of experience in a discipline/area of work, wherever prescribed, shall be counted after the date of acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualifications prescribed for that Post. 

11. SC/ST/OBCs, PwBD, ESM, EWS, etc., certificates, as applicable, should be issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format/proforma. 
12. The candidate should, mention in the application all the qualifications and experience, if any, in the relevant area supported by documents and ensure that all details are in full and accurate. 
13. The candidate should ensure to submit her/his application complete in all respect along with the required certificates/documents before its submission. Any discrepancy found between the information given in the application and as evident in the original documents will make the candidate ineligible for the post(s). 
14. Date of Birth filled by the candidate in the Application Form must match with the date recorded in Matriculation / Secondary School Certificate. Subsequent request for change in date of birth will not be entertained. 
15. In case candidates could not submit their online application due to failure of server/any technical defect at the last moment, last date will not be extended. Therefore, candidates are advised to submit online application well in advance without waiting for the last date of submission of application. Institute’s decision shall be final and binding and no enquiry will be entertained in this regard. 
16. All the applicants are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess the essential qualifications and other conditions stipulated in the advertisement laid down for the positions as on the last date of receipt of the online application. No interim enquiry asking for advice on eligibility will be entertained. The prescribed essential qualifications/experiences are the minimum, and selection is done through open competition followed by interview. 
17. No Right to Interview / Selection: Merely fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria or appearing in the written examination does not automatically entitle a candidate to be called for an interview or guarantee final selection. 
18. In respect of the equivalent clause in Essential Qualifications, if a candidate is claiming a particular qualification as equivalent qualification as per the requirement of advertisement, the candidate is required to produce an order/letter in this regard, indicating the Authority (with number and date) under which it has been so treated otherwise the application is liable to be rejected. However, the final decision in this regard will be taken as per the guidelines of CSIR on the subject. 
19. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification for the post. 
20. No travelling allowance shall be paid to the candidates for appearing in the written examinations. 

21. The decision of the Director, CSIR-IITR, Lucknow in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection and conduct of examination will be final and binding on the candidates. 22. The Written Examination for PAT-I position will be held in Lucknow only. 
23. Admit Cards will be issued separately to the candidates for appearing in the written examination for the position of Project Associate-I (PAT-I). 
24. No separate Admit Card shall be issued for the interview for the all Positions. 
25. Only those candidates who have successfully submitted their application forms on or before the prescribed closing date shall be allowed entry to the interview venue. 
26. Candidates are required to report at the interview venue on the scheduled date and time along with all original documents and relevant certificates for verification. 
• Date of Birth Proof (if not mentioned in Matriculation/ Secondary Certificate and Marksheet). 
• Matriculation/ Secondary Certificate and Marksheet, 
• Any other Educational Qualification Certificate / Degree certificate, as mentioned in application form, 
• Order/ letter in respect of equivalent Educational Qualifications claimed, indicating the Authority (with number and date) under which it has been so treated (in respect of equivalent clause in Essential Qualifications, if a candidate is claiming a particular qualification as equivalent qualification), 
• Caste/ Category Certificate, if belongs to reserved categories, 
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities Certificate in the required format, if applicable 
• Apart from above documents any other relevant document as mentioned in the application form for the purpose of document verification. 
27. During document verification, photographs or scanned images of original documents stored on mobile phones, tablets, or any other electronic devices shall not be accepted as valid documents. 
28. Candidates shall be permitted to appear in the interview only upon production of their original certificates/documents. In the absence of the original documents, the candidate shall not be allowed to appear in the interview. 
29. Have a valid personal email ID and mobile no., which should be kept active till the completion of this Project Staff Engagement Process. Intimation may be sent to download Admit Card/Hall Ticket for the Written Examination etc. through the registered e-mail ID. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID and mobile no. before applying on-line and must maintain that email account and mobile number. 30. Screening / Shortlisting: Depending on the volume of applications received, the Institute reserves the absolute right to adopt and implement a screening or shortlisting procedure as deemed necessary. 
31. Decision of the Selection Committee: The decision of the Selection Committee regarding the selection process shall be absolute, final, and binding on all candidates. No correspondence or inquiries will be entertained in this regard. 32. Important Note: Under no circumstances will any candidate arriving after 10:00 AM be permitted to appear for the interview
