National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) was conceptualized by Government of India on persistent demand of the food industry to have an apex body as a "One Stop Solution Provider" for the various problems of the sector. Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India has set up this institute with an initial investment of Rs. 500 crore (US USD 100 million). The institute is spread over an area of 100 acres.

Project Title : Development and Evaluation of a Designer Probiotic Consortium for Type2 Diabetes and Obesity Intervention
Number of Positions : One
Duration : 24 months or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.
Emoluments per Month : ₹70,900/- consolidated
Essential Qualifications : 1. PhD in Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Food Technology/ Allied Sciences.
2. NET/GATE qualified candidates with a prior publication record in relevant areas may be given preference.
Age Limit Maximum : 35 years (relaxation of 5 years for women/ SC/ ST/ OBC/ differently abled as per the Govt. of India Rules).
Desirable
1. Candidates having research experience in Probiotics, Gut Microbiome studies, -Omics studies, Bioinformatics or metabolic disorders will be preferred.
2. Candidates with experience in animal studies, histopathology, and data analysis will be given preference.
3. Expertise in molecular biology and cell biology techniques including RNA isolation, qRT-PCR, ELISA, animal cell culture work is desirable.
4. Experience with R, Python, and the analysis of sequencing data (16S rRNA gene, shotgun metagenomics) is desirable.
5. Experience in handling analytical instruments such as GC– MS, LC–MS, FTIR, DSC, and HPLC will be preferred.
