Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is an institution of national importance and statutory body established by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India with regional and global partnerships synergizing with the programmes of UNESCO as a Category II Centre. The primary focus of RCB is to provide world class education, training and conduct innovative research at the interface of multiple disciplines to create high quality human resource in disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of biotechnology in a globally competitive research milieu.

Title of Project : Studying the ribosomal RNA (rRNA) diversity, functional relevance of rRNA processing factor 2 (RPF2) in ribosome biogenesis, root, shoot development and drought stress tolerance in rice.

Essential Qualifications : M.Sc./M.Tech. in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/ Bioinformatics/Genomics / Pharmacy or any other related subject, and National level SRF eligibility test such as NET, GATE, etc. qualified with 2 years of research experience.

Desirable Qualifications : Candidate should have experience in protein isolation, purification, molecular biology, biochemistry, Confocal microscopy, gene editing techniques, plant tissue culture, translation assays, Morphological characterization of plants by tissue sectioning etc. A candidate with two year of research experience in a relevant area with expertise will be preferred. The candidate should be motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, a team player, and have good interpersonal skills.
